Over the last few months, several members in the Midwest, including ME, have desperately asked about mechanics who are familiar with valks, particularly tending to carb problems/ rebuilds. Well, after buying a mint ‘99 standard that had trouble idling, endless backfiring and uneven acceleration, (due to former owner storing it for two plus years, I decided to try my local dealer (Beechmont Motorsports, east of Cincy) I tried additives, checking vac lines etc, and had run out of options. The crew at Beechmont had my rig for 3 1/2 weeks, doing a full service, installing a new Dunlop on the front, switching a set of pipes from Two Brothers to stock AND rebuilding all six carbs. I ended up with a tab of $1690. Carb kit was $130, and labor for carb work was $750. The bike runs smooth, fast and better than new! Thanks to mechanic Chris. I truly feel the work was fairly priced, and the results exceptional. So, if you are within range of Cincinnati, keep this dealer in mind. I will, as I’m glad to have a competent shop within 12 miles of home. Mike
