Luckily the grip broke while I was taking my fat lady off of the kick stand and not hanging on through a tight curve.

GF, if I remember correctly you have the Kuryakyn flame grips on your Valk don't you?  They don't show them as fitting on a Valk that I can find but they would go well with my theme.  Did you have any issue installing them?

Hey Chuck,

Yes, they would follow your theme....perfectly!  cooldude

And...No, I didn't have any problems installing them!

Let me know if I can help in anyway.

Kuryakyn does replace their broken grips free of charge don't they? I know they replace them if the chrome goes bad.. I realize your wanting to change styles but I'd get that set replaced if they are covered..

I'll check into that; the chrome is quite pitted and the end of the grip broke off, but I imagine any warranty has expired by now.

In the catalog (J&P) they show the flame grips for any 1" bars...thats the one I bought, and I love the feel, not "bubblie" like the standard Kury grips........take a look

I ordered a set of 6262's of off ebay for $56, no tax and no shipping charges.  I gave Maxim Honda first dibs but all they had in stock were two for all metrics EXCEPT Honda and a set for Harley; doesn't say much for their parts department.  My new ones should arrive about the time I finish up the vacuum hoses, petcock rebuild, LED install, etc, etc that I am in the middle of now.

I agree about the feel of the flame grips, I had them on the last two bikes I owned and was bummed when they were not listed as fitting a Valk when I first bought her.  I should have ordered the generic ones long ago and risked it.

Thanks for the info Chris.

PS -- Is your Valk parked in your living room?  It looks like a library wall behind it.
