I am having difficulty finding a carb rebuild kit for my 2000 Valkyrie interstate. I've contacted Randakk and Redeye and both have stated that they cannot get them for the Interstate model. What is the difference if any between the Tourer and Interstate carbs.  Thanks,  Ikester

only slide springs are different.

why do u need to rebuild them? I've got 79k miles and I bought it new in '00. zero problems except twice in all that time the end nuts of the carb thru bolts got loose, so slight leak btwn carb bodies. tightened the nuts up, zero leaks for yrs.

I've not torn into any Interstate carbs but All Balls list the same rebuild kit for GL1500C 97-00, GL1500CD 01-03, GL1500CF 99-01, GL1500CT 97-00   And I can tell you from experience the All Balls kit does not have any optional or extra parts included.

My bike is starting hard, running poorly at idle and even stalling at times when stopped. The bike is apart for maintenance and the carbs are going to come off and get cleaned and new gaskets and o-rings installed along with new vacuum and fuel lines. If the slide springs are the only difference, I will order a Tourer model carb kit from Randakk. I've purchased from Randakk several times and have had no problems. Thank for the info.

sounds only  like the pilot jet needs to be cleaned and not a complete change out of gaskets, which have nothing to do with how the engine runs.. run a can of B12 and then use TC-W3 in correct ratio along with sta-bil every tank.

If this doesn't cure the problem then new pilots and sealing washers, R&R the idle air screws (using new O rings) and new bowl gaskets. Turn each in until lightly seated, write down the number of turns and remove. Repeat the process when re-installing, setting each screw to its original position. Do one at a time.

Per the quoted post, a complete carb rebuild is only called for in the case of major leaks and/or obstructed air passages.

Change the Air filter while you are at it i would recon,

If you have the atomic for it, plug the emissions ports too, the bike will thank you for it

I hope their carb kits are better than their fork seals.
