Broken right side engine mount
«

I was involved in and accident a few months ago on my 2000 tourer. Bike went down on its right side and the engine guard was damaged and also bent the subframe it was attached to. It also broke the engine mount on that side. It looks as though the engine case is split. Is there anyway to repair what is broke(cast aluminum) or will this make the bike unrepairable unless I find and engine for sale somewhere? Is this engine the same as the Goldwings in that year?

Cast aluminum can certainly be repaired, but since it is a mount that is broken, I would be looking for a motor case if I was going to put it back on the road.

I had bought a valk that was laid down. As I was going through fixing everything (already put a lot in) I noticed the right motor mount was broke. Took it to a reliable welder and they welded it back together. You can tell by looking, but nice strong joint. Not sure I would bother if the case is cracked. If not bad, a good welder can fix. Cast is not easy, biggest thing is must be supper clean. Good luck.

Anything and almost everything can be repaired, at a price. Is it worth it?
I'm all for replacing the motor, GW will work, but it's not a Valkyrie. Better or worse engine? Like mentioned, the 97-00 is same/better. I don't know, but you'll have reverse if you can get it working on the Valkyrie, personally I would go GW, cheaper.
