The lady that owns The Sea Dip was so nice to us she claims the mayor is a idiot and all the old folks who voted him in are the ones wanting motorcycles out of Myrtle Beach. She claims all the old folks want is more old folks and bingo and golf in Myrtle Beach. The owner hooked us up I've stayed there several times in the past with my family on vacation. We had a 3 room with full kitchen ocean front . We paid $39.00 apiece for 3 nights then Charlie said he was just going to stay this week also ( You Can't Hide Money ) and rented it till next monday. Paul and I had planned on ridin' home on sunday however with the ice and snow in Tennessee and the Carolina's over the weekend we stayed a extra night hoping the roads would clear aliitle more. Charlie hooked us up with a freebie on sunday night so Paul and I had ( 4 ) nights in a ocean front for $9.75 a night <---no doubt the best deal I've ever got on a motel . We parked our bikes inside out of the weather to boot.

The beach was ours for the most part we did have to share with the Gulls.

On saturday the day of " The Polar Plunge " the weather was nasty with high wind sleet and rain and temps in the low 30's. We rode down to check out the plunge and even with the bad weather it still had a nice group hit the ocean. First picture is Moses leading the way.

It was bitter cold when these folks hit the water....And no I did'nt do " The Polar Plunge " but I do have the t-shirt  Smiley  .$47,000 was raised for The Special Olympics .

We rode every day and did 450 miles over the weekend just ridin' the coast north and south of Myrtle Beach. Sunday Paul and I rode north into North Carolina and zig-zaged into every little town between Wilmington and Myrtle Beach while Charlie played golf with his brother who lives in Myrtle Beach.Other than saturday we had great weather to ride . Heres some pictures of our ride on sunday.

We started seeing ice in the trees around I-20 and saw our first snow about 40 miles before crossing into North Carolina. We took Hwy. 25/70 to get around the I-40 rockslide and other than having to slow a few times for slick spots we had a great ride home.I had 1,380 miles round trip .

I do believe that that is the new Cooper River Bridge (the third Cooper River Bridge) if I'm not mistaken.

I like that travel back Charlie had on the back of his bike...is that a wing accessory???

Would like to get one of those for the valk...then with a few rods and clubs, all my fun could travel with me...

Looks like a great trip....

Glad you got back safe and sound...

All you need is a hitch and it would work on a Valkyrie. I'm sure Charlie will read this and hook you up with the needed information. He had a full bag of clubs in that thing.

When I was little, there was just this:

Then they built another, and then another... now there's just the one, named after
Senator Ravenel...

I'll just add that on Sunday it was so cold for the Myrtle Beach crowd that the first course my brother and I went to stayed closed for the whole day to protect the greens.  We played Indigo Creek and for me it was a great time of fellowship with my family.

This Tuesday we got what I think was a minor tropical depression and it rained all day.  I talked with my brother and the Motorcycle week is going to move to North Myrtle Beach and the Black Motorcycle Week is moving to Atlantic Beach.

The bag on the back hooks up to a trailer hitch.  Go to www.drivelikeapro.com and you will find it there.  The company is outstanding to work with and has great customer service.  Some who have these complain about it in the wind.  DUH, it's just like a rudder with a severe crosswind.  But with that being said that bag has about 50,000 miles on this goldwing and 30,000 miles on my Interstate.

I would recommend that you get an auxillary strap to keep it from bouncing.  I broke the bracket this last summer after four years of some pretty hard riding.  I use it for my golf clubs, fishing gear (I can fit a float tube, wadders, wadding shoes, two fly rods, vest, and still room left over) and of course the stupid questions as to what it us.  What makes it nice is that it sits on the centerline of the bike, can remove it when you get to your destination, and it carries almost as much as a trailer.  I just a couple more pounds to the air shock and I don't even know it's back there.

Well five more days at Myrtle Beach and then another five days to get home.

That's me, I was born in 57, I guess I look to be three or four? That's a Buick Special.

The oldest bridge is the Grace bridge. The middle aged bridge is the Silas Pearman bridge. The new
bridge is named after senator Arthur Ravenel, a cool dude... I was at a oyster table once and looked
up and he was standing across from me... I was at the State House when he gave this speech:

Cool picture there Mike and you were a good looking kid there as well.

The all American kid at large. In a Buick Special.

My little brother Jeff said when he grew up he was going to buy three Buicks, I guess that meant a person had a lot of money then.

us non-SC just call them all the Cooper River Bridge. I have a buddy that has done marathons in Charleston. I think he's ran across all three of them. I've ridden a motorcycle across all three (because I don't jog).
