T'was saying as an option you could scavange a chrome shell instead of buying the entire turn signal.

Be aware some Honda turnsignal shells have a more pronounced point on its profile. Might be just the Aeros though. Definitely on the recent Honda.

It's a good idea to examine a photo that has a view of the top section of the chrome shell. Before that barb at 12 o' clock breaks off, it forms a tell tale crease.

The socket plate for the bulb has a clip (x below) that captures the rubber stalk (on single screw signals). The tip of the stalk has a groove for the clip. If you unsrcew the socket plate, you'd be able to unclip the stalk and separate the chrome shell. From my experience avoid applying locktite to the screws as they thread into plastic posts. When the screws are removed the plastic threads are likely to get stripped from the adhesion.
