The winds have been relentless here.
And  need rain badly!

Not that windy here in the SC Midlands but the rainfall this year has been very marginal.  The creek at the back of our property is really getting low.  Still some water that is clear but....  really low level wise.

I worry that when the rains come, if they come with heavy rain, there will be heavy erosion  which will result in more damage.  Yes, I know that is Mother Nature at work but.......

Praying for some raindrops which will enhance the land not destroy it.

WWe are facing a severe drought.
I've been going up the mountain every other day, working on the spring. :-\

Scabbed  :cooldude:
Or as you said sister butted to it .
When you look at that bottom pic you can see it a double beam :cooldude:
It appeared to be the simplest option.

And the posts are notched for more support.

did you sister the beam or rebuild the whole dang thing

I sort of wondered the same thing and if you look closely you can see the sister in the last picture.

Always amazed at what you can accomplish Tracy.  Well done!  Well done!

My neigbhor Jason has  a  nice  100hp JD  that  is  what we  used to lift the  roof to just a tad  above lvl.
With the  help of  his  wife her dad, and  myself.
Other wise  my Ford never could have  lifted  it up.

Great job as usual    :cooldude: :cooldude:

and surprising that the beam broke in the first place.

Cant get good tomatoes here in Florida but that is alot of them. How much do you actually need to make

the sauce since that seems like alot, from someone who does not know.

Good job that needed to be done before snow flies!
Looks much better than when I saw it in June for sure.

I got that  butt end cut up split and  stacked 2 loads.
BTW it was 42' long and   pretty much took all of  my 18" bar  the whole  length!
Not rot in it as well  Ibuzzed through 2.5 batteries. It was hard!
I was so glad  I threw  a new chain on  the saw today...

Again, truly impressive Tracy.   Really!!!!!!  I have some trees that must come down (pines that were killed by pine bettles).

On is about 36" in diameter and a really big tree but not totally dead.  Currnlety the Buzzares love to hang out in the upper branches.

I have the tools to down the tree but I am going to try and haven someone else Yonge than I do the work..

May cost a few Thousand but.....that is life..

Again,  great work Tracy!!!!!

LadyDraco

Those are some big trees. Pines that large can get what's called wind shake!

I  only have  2  pines  ,  that are  big 1  Bluespruce  and  1  long needle . Both in the  front.

It has  been too windy to get in the  woods  here. I will not cut when it's very windy, too many limbs  and  black walnuts  falling.

The  other  day I  turned  one  of  my Mum's  small butcher blocks in to a  nightstand table
for  the  bedroom...I  had  the  legs.
I think it  came  out good. Works,I  never used it in the  kitchen.

When I bought my house it had a portable dishwasher in the small kitchen.   I don't use dishwashers, so I threw it away.

But I used the nice butcher block top off it for a counter top on a small kitchen cabinet I added.

EDIT:  Your nightstand would be too tall for my bed.  I took the frame off mine and sleep on box spring and mattress only.  It's a lot easier for an old man to get in and out of bed this way (with trips to pee at night).  And no cleaning dust bunnies underneath it either.   ;D

Oss

I also keep legs off of things that were thrown out

Does that make me a hoarder?    Ya never know when......

Nice job

Still here  :cooldude: Just super busy.

I had to add a new addition to the stable and say goodbye to two old stable mates.
Said good  bye to old Yella '05 and  Greeny '06 quads . They were no longer reliable for  me and the farm. They still ran , but not right , no power . I know Don could have fixed the quads , But not me.
I truly can't afford  this but it was a must,I did get a very good deal on Blue already had a winch and plow  on it ! It was a sign!

I had been using TheBeast as a quad on the farm .  Yes for real, And  had to stop doing that.
Did that for about a month. Running it through the fields where I feed the cattle and   checking the water in the lower trough. Hooking it to my wood wagon and  putting gravel  in the wagon ,to fix the driveway.   No way was I taking it up the mountain over rocks and trees..

I felt that being that the quads still ran it was better  to stop using them ,while they still ran;  then till they stopped altogether..

A shop bought my 2  and put it twards  a new to me.
With a farming bank that was willing to help also.
I will be putting TheBlack up for sale ..
I got to do what I got to do.. I don't like it .. but what am I going to do.

This piece of equipment is a must. I can't walk up the mountain every few days to work on the spring,
and the lines , Go back up because something still wasn't right. It just wastes too much time.
That takes hours via walking ,checking what I did then heading back up to the spring again.
My tractor can't make it up there, and the last thing I need is to damage it!

So Hello to Blue '22 ..
Yes Blue came with a new snow plow ,That has never dragged on the ground yet!
I will add some mining belt rubber  to this plow like I had  done  to my old plow.
Yeah that old plow went with the quads.
so now ya'll know what has been going on ...

Oh I left out a lot of woes ! LOL
With the wood cutting ,tractor and splitter  :tickedoff: :2funny:
That's all been fixed..

Enjoy life, enjoy friends and enjoy your new "ride".  I am sure it will be a joy.

Take care, wishing you the best and a lovely Thanksgiving.

Thank You ..

I do like the power steering.. It makes going over rocks a whole lot easier.
The handle bars don't jam ya. Or jerk out ..

Sorry for your loss Tracy.

What a monster.

I'm sorry to ask, but what in the world will you do with him?  It must involve some heavy equipment/machinery.  Or do you call in some help?

LadyDraco

Sadly, he died in an area we can't  get my neighbor's rig in to bury him. :'(
    That just kills  me .

5" of  snow  here, I was working  in the  shop well past dark last night .
But got the  rubber belting on the  snow  plow.
I was too tired and worn out to attach the plow, since it's much heavier than my previous one.
The  last 2  bolt holes  were  a  tad  off and  well it was  a  RPITA to fix it but did...

Being  that I didn't have  supper last night ,I felt I better  eat this  morning,
SO now it's off to mount that plow.. And  plow  snow....

Three inches up here in NoVA Tracy.

I didn't need the snow blower.  I just used my 600 backpack blower to clear the walks and truck.

3600' makes all the difference.

Luckily we don't get a lot of snow here in SC but.....  Since my wife is from Minnesota, I can relate to snow and snow plows and snow blowers and snowmobiles.

A picture of me, December 1969 just prior to our marriage. The backyard of my wife's mother's home, Fairmont, MN.  My first ride on a "Snowmobile".

It's snowing at a good clip, have an 1" on the ground now but at this  rate could get
the 3-6"
