First Valkyrie.....Last motorcycle.

I need some experts to tell me if I have aftermarket or OEM exhaust.  My issue is that each side of the cover has two small metal tangs that stick out and I think I'm missing the other side that will strap it around the pipes.  So right now I guess the metal cover (for lack of better terms) is just wrapped around the pipes and really isn't attached to anything.  There is no brand name stamped anywhere like Cobra does with theirs.....But all of the OEM pipes in images show them flattening at the end.....Just curious now.

Be glad that the metal straps haven't broken off from the chrome covers. Or maybe they have partially and the slack caused the bolt to loosen and its *other half* to fall off.

puhleeze, I explained all this before already. The forum does not offer a yellow hybrid that's tinted with just the right amount of orange that works perfect with the dark-esque gray background. So I had to use what's available. Stay tuned or something like that.

As long as the loop ain't rusted through,

I don't see it impossible to diy a replacement strap.

It's just a strip of metal with a 90° bend at one end with a slight radius looking at the profile from the side. The width doesn't matter. It could just as well be 5-inches wide.
On the other hand the length should be shy vrs. too long as any gap can be filled in with washers. And even washers might be overkill, that is, as long as the bolt pulls the
opposing tabs tight enough in each other's direction, it's good enough. The opposing tabs don't have to flush up to each other in this application.

We arrive at the point where the value of form over function should be contemplated. You could just as well use tie wire since this part is hidden. Nobody would know the difference.
But your bike will. And every Valk rider that passes you on the highway will sense something's wrong with you. (Just trying to be humorous.)

Thanks RonW, that shows exactly what I'm missing and it's that little part that the nut goes up against.....I can fabricate that out of some stainless sheet I have.  After getting down on my back and digging around under it I saw no rust whatsoever so I think this thing has spent it's life inside and only coming out in good weather....which is EXACTLY what I plan to do with it!!  My office is 60 miles away down a four lane highway out in country and I've taken the Valkyrie all week.  I love it.  We also have a little 750 Shadow Ace but my butt falls off when I ride it that long.  I'm totally digging this huge ass'd beast!!  And those pipes make the coolest growl when tooling around the surface streets at about 25 or 30 mph.....Turns heads at 100 yards!!

I searched and found a set of Triple Tips back in 2019 and paid $3000 for them.
The very nice seller threw in the bike they were on for free.... Grin
They have since been swapped out to Valkyrie #1.

Is that an active right-of-way - and if so, which RR?

It's the Norfolk Southern line that used to run from
Maiden to Lenoir North Carolina. The picture is where
the track crosses Null road in Maiden right near the
end of the line. It was abandoned around 1991.
The Caldwell County Railroad acquired the section
from Hickory to Lenoir some years ago and service
several industries in Caldwell County.
This picture is at the Caldwell County Railroad yard in
Hickory with old 1747 in the background.
They have two old EMD GP16 SCL/L&N locomotives.
