as a retired LEO i can tell you that underglow lights used to be illegal in many states, make sure you check wherever you go with the local law. might save an unwanted ticket on a great trip.
Especially red and blue (cop color lights are a no no most everywhere, whether they stop you or not).
And if they flash, forget it.
I run all of my accent lights on a switch. Tourer is set up so engine bay rearwards glows green, while the Interstate has the Cerenkov look going on. When I build another Standard I may do it in either red or purple.
FWIW, none of the added illumination is visible from anywhere but the sides of the bikes. Just the standard white/yellow up front and red/white (license plate) in the back.
Given the fact that many of the rim-job cage drivers in Ohio (especially the Jeep crowd) are running red, green and blue headlight accent rings and rather bluish headlights it's surprising that more don't get pulled over - but I've never witnessed a lighting stop. Even from OHP, who are generally regarded as class-A pricks. None have ever hassled me about accessory lighting on my bikes, though it's shut off when on the open road.
