One of the worst days (and nights) of my life.

There was NO blasting, just slow and painful passing.

Thoughts for a speedy "process" and an excellent outcome.   angel

My BIL got blasted today too. Didn’t get it all the first time about a month-/+ ago. Hope you have a seamless procedure!

I know your pain too well. I passed this 20mm long by 14mm wide naturally a couple years ago. It took 7 days after it reached my bladder to pass it.
I took it to my urologist and he actually said Damn that's the largest one I have ever seen passed the old fashioned way. I wanted to keep it as a trophy so to speak but that's not allowed I guess. It's twin is in my right kidney and they say it should never move but if it does I think I will have it blasted.
Good luck with your procedure.

Amazing how big it was beside the Dime. When I finally passed it my
eyes were probably as big as a Silver Dollar.   Shocked

Yeowch, hope the blasting takes cares of it! Had a kidney stone ~20 years ago, passed the old fashioned way but never found it (Them?).

My recent 2 month stay in the hospital adventure started out with what I thought was another kidney stone but turned out to be gall stones that had worked their way into my bile ducts... Fun times, fun times...

Good luck!

I’m sure they were. My wife had kidney stone issues a few years back. I think she has ended up passing 4 or 5 over the years. I know how painful they were for her, and none were even close to that size. We did end up scooping some out of the toilet and saving them. But I think she finally tossed them. That boulder of yours needs one of those plastic cases like they put a Babe Ruth signed baseball in.  Wink I have no idea how you passed that monster.  Shocked

If I had any idea they were going to keep it I wouldn't have taken it.

If it's twin ever starts to move I am going for the Blasting method also.
Hope everything went well with your procedure.

My wife had a kidney stone blasted and removed.  Came home after the procedure.  The next day I came home from work and she had a high fever and felt terrible.  Took her to the ER and the procedure caused her to develop sepsis.  A week in the hospital, then a couple of weeks of IV antibiotics at home.

If you develop a fever, get back to the hospital ASAP.

The Doc started me on Ciprofloxacin anti botic.  Hopefully that will prevent infection.
