Today's Task - It was a lovely day in the Midlands of South Carolina for late November.  Seventy five degrees F and a light wind and nice and sunny, just a few clouds.

It was a great day for a ride but I had another task I wanted to accomplish.  I wanted to add something to the property.

Our house is on a piece of land that slopes from front to back, no much but....  The property is about 400 feet wide and 900 feet deep.  When we purchased the property there were two access points, one on the main road and one on the side from a dirt road that runs down one side of the property.

The area off the main road was where we figured the previous land owners want to build their home.  We purchased the property before that happened.

I wanted to not have our house just off the main road but several hundred feet back to provide some privacy and just something to look at besides the roadway.

I keep the area in front with the access (see picture below) as it was but did clean it up some (dead cedar tree and another that was leaning).

This is what the area looks like from the road.

This is a view of our home taken about 100 feet further down the road we live on and the same distance off the roadway.  We had to ask the country to put in another "pipe" and longer that most.  I did not want delivery trucks or vehicles to have a problem getting our home.

I thought, because the area in the first picture was cleared and close to the roadway, I could build something there, maybe just a picnic table with a shelter.   That would allow me to do something with the area during Christmas.

Making, building a Nativity Scene, was my goal.  I wanted it make it full size and with some lights.  Sadly, I just could not come up with a plan that seemed to work.   So,,,, I looked on line for something.   And I found this company out of Ocoee, FL that made a Nativity Scene I liked.

I purchased what they labeled as a full sized build.  And today, I set it up.   We will be otherwise occupied for the next few days and then there is Thanksgiving and I wanted it read for the Sunday after Thanksgiving.  And today was a super nice day to work outside.

Here is what is looks like.

First image just to get an idea of the size through the roll-up door on the work shop.

And here is what it looks like closer up.  The Sheep will be placed on the outer side of the scene.

Two 20 lumen solar powered lamps well be used to illuminate the scene.  They are pretty cheap and probably will only last one season but.... I think they will work out.
