 Grin cooldude

My problem is not with spelling (mostly), it's with typing (the only class I flunked out of in my life).

You'd think that after well over 50 years on a keyboard, I'd have improved.  Wrong!

I have never learned to officially type / keyboard, although my occupation (IT support) demanded alot of using a keyboard / mouse....

Spelling is generally fine, as well as using the correct version of homonyms (one of MY pet peeves).

Homonyms, is that similar to grits or something hint more mid western?

I remember jr hi typing class very well.

We were on Underwood manuals (not electric), and our 107yo typing teacher would play bad elevator music which was designed to help you get into a typing rhythm.  What it did was drive us (me) crazy.

Doodly, doodly, da, da, da, de.  Doodly, doodly......

Oh, and if you wadded up your typing paper and threw it the basket, she would make you take it back out and smooth it down flat again, because more flat paper would take up less room in the can than balled up paper.

The things you remember.

Words that sound alike, but are spelled and mean different things. Example - to, two, and too. Four and for.

I took the typing class also and thought it would be a total waste. Seems it wasn't since I do type with both hands and dont have to look at the keyboard at last.

I wasn't to fit a typing class into my schedule.   I did have the opportunity to go through a typing book my Mom had using a manual typewriter.  It helped later in life cause my handwriting was pretty bad and mostly unreadable.  Then came the word processors, and I was saved.  BUT auto correct has its downfall, as it may think you meant something else.  Just like the auto fill in now.

Worst thing about the autocorrect is when you type a word wrong and it puts in the wrong word that closely resembles the word you wanted.
