It was a nice day today, 45 or 50, sun out, next to no wind...

I took off with the plan of going North of Toccoa Georgia without having to go through Toccoa... no
dice, all the roads went dirt... saw some nice old houses though, and some nice segments of road, one
nicely paved curvy road through the woods that lead down to a big rushing creek, a county prison
with some nasty razor wire, got chased by some little foofoo dogs...

Stopped at this Old Church near where one of the roads goes dirt, the sign says it was established
in 1850, but I think the building is from the 1940's...

I stopped at this place, they call it Traveler's Rest. I stopped here once a few years ago and took
a picture and Big Mike used the picture in the calendar he made that year. This old inn (just a
museum now) is almost 200 years old...

Joe showed a picture of a cool arched bridge they found on a ride, and made me think of this bridge...

Nice ride report Mike.

I really like that decal of the "tree and moon" on the side cover.  I am assume that they have some significance in the history of South Carolina.....since that is the only place I have ever seen them.

Nice pics Mike. Good ride report too.
I believe there is a town in SC called Travelers Rest. Is this where the Inn is?

You know, seeing a picture of someone riding their cycle in the middle of February is kind of like looking at a girly magazine.  Wish you had it, but glad someone’s enjoying it!!

Thanks for the pictures!!

Nope, Traveler's Rest in South Carolina is a small town on the way to Asheville on Hwy 25.

This Traveler's Rest is just the old Inn, it's in Georgia near Toccoa...

I like the idea of a meetup in N GA this coming weekend. I can't join you on Saturday, but Friday or Sunday are open.  Smiley

MIke - does Sunday work or is Saturday your only option. I know Sunday is the 14th - Valentines Day. Undecided

A few of us got out last Saturday for a ride. Weather was not very good, but we were itching to ride. A little rain, a little sleet and plenty of cold. Still, it was a ride.  cooldude

I'd have to skip Church on Sunday  Evil - I'm up for what gets us all on the ride... long range weather forecast
makes Sunday look as good as Saturday...

Saturday night's Valentines date is a "Love Boat" lasagna dinner/skit kind of thing put on by
the kids at Church, so that should sort of count...  coolsmiley
