This is Jim Storm, a past member of the Central Illinois Motorcycle Club around 1951. I don’t have a picture of the landing! My sphincter has been tight a few times while riding but this would be next level for me.

That picture sort of reminds me of an incident in my youth.

I was early Jr Hi age, with no older brother, but my older cousin Steve (mother's sister's son) was older and had been a HS football captain with a beautiful girlfriend, and an old beat up Panhead Harley in parts in his under the house garage.  He had been working on it for years.

One day, he finally got it running.  A group of his older buddies (and I) were there for occasion.

He got on, no helmet or gear, fired it up and flew out of the garage under the house, bouncing up the driveway.  The throttle was wide open (and stuck), and he plowed right through a solid wood fence at the property line, and wiped out big time.  He was unhurt and smiling from ear to ear.

That was probably the foundation moment of my early love for motorcycles.

I never did get a ride on that thing.  But another cousin took me out on his new Honda 150 Dream a year or so later, and scared the hell out of me in the WVa hills.  And I was hooked forever.
