A buddy on mine recently totaled his 2001 Interstate. The dealership took off his add on parts. He gave me a chrome tubelar radiator guard. The guard has I believe six tubes that run horizonal not sure the brand name. As I was attempting to put the guard on I noticed the left plactic fairing that attaches the the radiator did not allow enough space to put the guard in behind. The problem is where the plastic hose is molded around the radiator hose. I wish I knew the brand of the guard to  help deterine the problem but I do not. I appears I can trim a little of the plastic fairing away to make it fit but do not wish to. Any thoughts, experiences on mounting a guard like I have tried to describe. Thanks

You have to make a little clearance cut in the radiator cover, just as you described, to clear the grille.  I got one from Rattlebars many years ago and the clearance was required.

Hey bassin, if it looks like mine in this pic, it is a 'Rattlebars' grill. If I remember right I did have to trim just a very little off the plastic with a sander. Cant even tell it after its mounted

Snowed in up here in central Ar. today!!!  Sad
