Went to the bike show a couple weeks ago. It was nothing spectacular as there were many vendors missing that would normally be there. I think this was the first show that we had since Covid so….
Wondering through, nothing really new except for this little gadget. The guy who just happened to be the inventor of this little product, is from British Columbia and probably had the smallest space on the floor to show his goods.

I always carry a puck with me, which I can now take out of my luggage. This little beauty takes up no space and is hidden behind your license plate. The lock is to prevent anybody from taking the plate out but like I said, in the video, you can’t see the dang thing anyway, so for me, I won’t be using the lock. Anyway, I just thought it was an awesome idea and thought I’d share it with you.  cooldude

Very interesting idea... I keep pucks in my bags, but for anyone trying to figure out exactly what this is, here's a video from the creator:

One of my Valks came with a small custom cut steel duckfoot clamped under the kickstand foot.

It stayed on all the time, tucked right in folded up, and never sunk in to any surface.

Sadly one day it got rubbed off, never to be found again.

I carry a puck in the bags too, but I just never park anywhere the stand might sink in.

Not totally sure but I think it must be nation wide. Ontario for sure. Think it would create confusion if it wasn’t.

I use a steel double electrical box cover blank.

Interesting idea and would come in handy.
Florida being sand you have to watch if you are on the side of the road or not on pavement. Or even on pavement when its hot in summer it can just push through the asphalt.

More times than not when I’ve needed a kickstand pad I needed it before I got off the bike. Behind the plate I would have had to get someone else to retrieve it.

I carry a 6" × 6" aluminum square with 4' of orange rope and a carabiner to clip onto the handle bar. Yea, I've taken off and left a couple laying.

electrical box cover smidge over 1 buck at menards..

wish I put mine down a few years ago at the newly blacktopped dentist office parking lot in 90 degree heat.  Came back out after less than 1 hour and kickstand sunk in 6 inches and Valk I/S darn near 45 degree angle.  Was a B... to lift back upright.  Tar was stuck on kickstand pretty bad also.

I don't have a side stand or a center stand for that matter.  I use a sidecar to hold the bike up anywhere and I have never left it behind. It does have room for a small (or large) pistol. 2funny

Each province makes their own rules about this.   I think Ontario just announced they no longer need to renew plates at all.  In Alberta we have to pay a fee to renew, but they no longer issue stickers.

Wait. What ? You Canadians are more polite than I even realized. You renew your licenses on the honor system ?

I have been re-purposing the center cutout of my PlasmaCam cut 5" bulkheads (for installing 5" stacks on 4" exhaust cores) into my "Parking Puck". Give them away at Inzane drawings, sell them for $10. The paracord is tied with a (sailor's) Buntline Hitch knot which gets tighter the more it's tugged.  Drop the 'biner over the kickstand footlever so when you forget to pick it up, the steel disc rings like a bell. That's powder coat not paint.  Or like a local business named, T'aint Paint.

In Alberta, if you're caught without current registration there's a minimum $230 fine.  If the honour system means the cops don't look up every plate on the road unless there's a reason to, yes.

I imagine the system works pretty well there. I have serious doubts we Americans could implement it to much success.
