Excessive comfort breeds weakness. PttP

This morning when I first checked the weather it was already in the sixties and expected to reach eighty degrees.  I remember the sixties and I think I liked them.  The eighties are a bit more mixed.

The weather report issued a red alert indicating gusty winds and dry conditions.  Can you imagine warning people in east Kansas that there would be gusty winds?  The dry conditions did mean we need to be careful regarding fire.  I don't smoke.

I chose the mesh jacket and rode Daisy Mae, the show bike (bobber), to church.  There is something special that only happens when one is on his motorcycle.  I can move through traffic at will and the PRV doesn't really seem as important as it sometimes does.  The flyway on the way is marked for sixty-fine mph.  I normally run it at or slightly (slight is a relative term) over seventy.  It's almost amazing how quickly the machine, with the smallest twitch of the throttle, will jump from seventy to eighty-five.  I do watch traffic with more than a hint of apprehension.  One can't trust cagers, most specifically female or young male cagers.

Unlike some of my friends, I do not normally ride just for the sake of riding.  Almost all my rides include an intended destination.  Sometimes the pathway to the destination is a meandering path.  I am, though, a PMT rider.

I stopped at Jersey Mike's after church for lunch.  I could see the machine from where I sat inside.  A young man with a very little boy kept looking at the bike and walking around it.  I got to get on and ride it home.

The wind was a tad too breezy for my liking. It hit 75 degrees and my son wasn't here to ride as he is coming back from Alabama delivering my #2 son's and his HD's for spring break.

#2 has become a resident as of last week. #1 has the luxury of owning 2 HD's. His 12' Switchback is my favorite. The other is a 23' 114 Ultra Limited with whole lot of "Tupperware" on it which he took to Alabama.

#3 son is tearing his HD apart which is typical to me from past memories of old.  Wink

good to be out in the wind

Finally got a ride in to Bear Mountain yesterday morning

Good to shake some of the rust off of my riding skills, such as they are

Was on the bmw, still waiting to get the switch for the IS's fog lights.  Everything I have tried is the wrong size
Have a former client who owns a MC shop trying to chase one down in the meantime

If yesterday was nice, today was fantastic, but the bike had to stay parked. My wife had hand surgery this morning, I had workmen show up at the house will we were gone and were there all day, neither of which were problems but necessitated we staying close by the house. I did get in a 45 minute walk which  had been missing during the winter and flu season. I’ve picked up a few pounds by practically being a shut in since the first of the year. Got to shut that down!

If you did get to ride today post a pic if you got ‘em.

Got a nice 3 hour ride in myself yesterday Tracy.  No rain.

More rain here today though, and I'm sick of it.

At least the Redbud trees are in full bloom.

Whoever named it was colorblind.

History has it that Judas Iscariot hanged himself from one and that the name is related to that fact.  (Red for blood)

Probably elevation Tracy.

One of my (only) favorite things about Winter is... no bugs

Redbud is about the earliest bloomer of all trees/shrubs.  No dogwoods yet.

seems like most days if super above warm temps here in WI involves high winds as well over 20 mph as such was the case the past few days.   Coulda put the batteries in the cycles, but yardwork took precedence as is normally the case.
