Is it too early to clean the snowblower and put it away, or are we in for another storm or two ??

We're probably not going to get more snow. I usually wait until April, though. Just in case.

Yeah. Definitely a cold snap coming this weekend. I don't expect to have snow that sticks to the road down my way. But the snow blower is  ready just in case.

What'cha got coming tonight and into tomorrow Tony??
We are teetering between the 1-3 and 3-6 inch line, with freezing rain tossed into the mix...

We're getting a cold rain here about 25 miles due west of Boston. It's supposed to come down heavy tonight. I'm going to use the fireplace this afternoon and into the evening to make the house cozy. This will probably be the last fireplace use this season. We're looking forward to the WX warming up. We were in Key West the week of March 11th and got a taste of summer. It was nice!

Looks like everyone had a good time in the Keys, Tony....
Our noontime weather report increased our predicted totals to between the 3 to 6 and 6 to 9 inch totals...
We have 4 maybe 5 inches so far..Supposed to change over to freezing rain by 5 PM and continue until 8 or 9 this evening...

Lost power at 7:30 last night. Hydro web page showed it would be restored by 10:30, so we figured no need to fire-up generator. Still no power at midnight, screw it going to bed ill deal with it in the morning.
No power at 4:30, and still no power at 7 this morning. Fired up generator and ran for 5 hours when hydro power came back on at 12:30 noon time.

3" of a thick crust and ice....vehicles are a solid block of ice....I may need to build a brush fire between the vehicles and watch the ice melt !!

Wow that sucks! Glad the power is back on. Getting the vehicles de iced is gonna be difficult. Sorry buddy. Hopefully this is the last frozen precipitation for you this year.

Sun came out about noon time today, and helped create a layer of water between the ice and the vehicles. A couple good thumps with a fist caused cracks in the ice, and it slid right off the roofs and hoods.
The driveway is another story...Lil' Blu scraped and gouged, and took off the top half of the crust and ice. I threw down a good layer of ice melt, waited a couple hours to let the sun to work on it, then scooped it off the driveway.

We have a big white pine out front that took major damage...It is surrounded by high tension power lines on one side, power lines coming into the house on another side, house on another side, and well established spruce trees on the fourth side... Called a company this morning to bring a bucket truck to cut every limb, then lop the top off....They will be showing up @8 tomorrow morning, before it decided to fall on it's own....
Not a tree I want to attempt to fell....Too many costly ways it could go wrong.

Sorry to say it's no joke. We're not expecting plowable snow down my way. However, where you live, it's likely to be plowable. Keep an eye on the weather, as it's all about the rain snow line. Since you live close to the coastline, the precipitation is going to be variable. Hopefully this is the last of it. Come on Spring!

The rain / snow line is constantly moving...Our total snow fall prediction ranges from 4" to 8" all the way to 12" to 16".... Either way, it will be a heavy wet snow with 45 to 55 mph winds. Good chance of more power outages...

The snowblower has been moved to the front of the shed, with the mower, weed whacker, and brush cutter being shuffled to the back....

Supposedly starting @ midnight tomorrow....

It was a swift kick right to the mommy daddy parts Tony....8 inches of heavy wet snow before changing over to a wet drizzle....Winds have subsided a little....Lots of power outages, luckily not us so far.

That sucks. Glad you didn't lose power and I hope it stays that way.

Rain, sleet and snow done my way. There was plowable snow/slush in my area. Supposed to be 60 degrees and sunny on Monday. So this has got to be the last of it. We've got our solar eclipse viewing glasses for Monday afternoon. We won't reach totality, but pretty close.

It's going back and fourth snow to rain to snow to rain....Luckily the wind has really died down the past couple hours.  The snow to rain to snow to rain is supposed to last all day tomorrow....

Temps Saturday thru Thursday will be close to if not in the 50s....

Still slightly less than 200k homes without power...The central coast was fortunate with this storm.

Hopefully power is fully restored by now. Glad you guys didn't lose power.

Are you heading north on Monday afternoon to view the total eclipse of the Sun? In my area about 93% of the Sun will be obscured. We've got our eclipse glasses and are hoping for cloudless skies. The next eclipse of this magnitude in my area will occur in 20 years. Not sure I'll make it to 86 years old, so I want to be able to see this one.  cooldude

Haven't heard the latest on power being restored...

We have our eclipse glasses...U.S. Cellular passed them out to their customers.

We will be setting on our back lawn, with a drink in hand, watching it become darker and darker...
Probably have a fire going in the fire pit

Ain't going no where near any of them crazy nut jobs trying to get closer to the path of total darkness
...Not sure what our percentage is here...

20 years 'til the next one, huh ??  I'll really be a crusty ol' bastard then.... crazy2
