New clutch master cylinder/reservoir help
«
on:
March 15, 2024, 02:03:34 PM »
I just bought a new clutch master cylinder/reservoir from Ron Ayers. Yes, I know, I could have rebuilt the one I have. Long story, I just feel better knowing it's new.
As I've not done this before, does anybody have a step by step for the install?
Thanks,
Don

Is it the complete unit, with all the guts in it ? If so, it should a simple install with a proper bleed.

Should be able to mount and bleed. Some people loosen the banjo bolt and bleed that first. I’ve never seen a need.

When I replaced mine, (clutch and brake) I simply drained the old system completely, replaced the masters, reattached the lines, filled and bled them. No issues at all.

A Mighty-Vac seems to help to get the fluid moving down to the slave. Then bleed the old fashioned way.

So, got it done. It was easier than I thought. JimC had a mighty vac and it worked great.
Thanks again for all the suggestions.
