Gilligan and Navigator - Wherever we ended up

Southwest Indiana

« on: February 09, 2010, 09:55:16 AM »

In 2003, when we took a 2-month road trip through the Northwest, Navigator wanted to ride through the Canadian Rockies, take the Icefields Parkway and see the Athabasca Glacier.  We even communicated with Gryphon-Rider in hopes of linking up in Banff.  We ran out of time and had to return home before crossing the border.  Finally, we set the trip for 2009.

Packed and Ready to Go

Days 1 – 3 (6/18/09 – 6/20/09) --- 675 Miles to Bellevue, NE
Temps went from mid-90s to 70 with a cold rain on Day 3
We rode to Bellevue, NE and visited our youngest son and family.  (We had talked to RJ to try to link up, but he had to work during the time we were near.  Sorry, RJ.  We will get together again.)

Day 4 (6/21/09) --- 338 Miles to Chamberlain, SD
70 at 6:30 AM --- 77 at 5 PM with AM rain
We stopped in Mitchell, SD and visited the Corn Palace
