    Fer me anywho. Been at this a couple months BUT the V A FINALLY got my agent orange claim processed and the 1st check has already been deposited to one of my accounts. Thanks Mark T fer the prod to file and thanks to Jess for P Ms that were quite Helpful. I believe my V A Advocate-THANKS Julie-said I am listed at 30% disability which will NOT git me rich BUT will on the other hand help out with those ever present pesky bills that MUST be paid on time!  So all in all Not a ba day and My Friend-thanks J T-picked up the breakfast tab this A M! Soon as I can nail down What EXACTLY my percentage of disabilty is I might let y'all here in on it or not!  TRUTH be told I never once thought bout filing for anything. BUT I see deception central throwin money everywhere But Where its NEEDED and I figured what the heck. Any of y'all on the fence bout filing all I can say is-GO FOR IT!  RIDE SAFE.

Soon as I can nail down What EXACTLY my percentage of disabilty

Dennis, you can figure out your own total percent of VA disability.  (and your service rep will know)

It's a bit arcane, and it is not simply adding your service connected disability ratings together.

It goes like this;  Say you have 40%, 20%, and 10% rated disabilities.

You start with the highest (to lowest).... so 40% of 100% leaves 60%.     40%

20% of the remaining 60% = 12%   (leaving 48%)                                 12%

10% of the remaining 48% = 4.8%                                                        4.8%

In this example, 40 + 20 + 10 combine to a total VA rating of 56.8%, which I believe rounds to a 60% combined rating.  (I think combined ratings are rounded to the nearest 10 percent level.) This is the only point I'm a little hazy on, and I think a 54.9% rating would get rounded down to 50%.

Everyone would prefer that they were simply added together (which in this example would be 70%), but they aren't.

Finally got mine approve last month; Tinnitus, Sinusitis, Asthma claim is still deferred. I had to show proof I bathed in JP-5 daily for 6 months at a time 20 years later. About took my purple shirts into the claims office for them to smell  the aroma incased in the fibers still. 

Doesn't make me a rich man, but definitely opens the door for early retirement with healthcare coverage

     1st 2 years I pumped a LOT of 115/145 avgas into Grumman S 2 Ds and Es! And whatever weight the crank case oil is on an R 1820-82-A! The last 2 years was mostly JP 5 in the C 2 Greyhounds. And the occasional North American Saberliner. Yuppers Reb just doin our jobs!  RIDE SAFE.

      CONFIRMATION of 30% disability showed up today 3/30/2024 from the V A evidence intake center @ Janesville Wi. And IF online information IS Correct I can now also claim travel pay to and from V A Medical appointments. NOT gonna git rich BUT the amount I receive Will help with those pesky monthly bills. Course AMERICA keeps on headin Where it's headin even that token amount will NOT be much help atall! 60 years AFTER I raised my Right Hand. And here we THOUGHT molasses in January wuz slow!  RIDE SAFE.     ANY of y'all VETERANS Still on the fence about filing for agent orange or burn pit exposure or ANY number of chemicals You WERE Exposed to git that dang paperwork Started NOW!
