I don't remember how I found this link but it's pretty cool.

I always said, based on my 10 months in the USS WASP (CVS-18), that flight deck operations were much like a ballet.   This YouTube video shows the pilot and co-pilot during the lineup (forget the right word)  to get ready for the CAT shot.

You cannot see all of those on the flight deck giving the signals but the Pilot does an excellent job of describing them.

I think you meant a BALLET of action on a carrier doing flight ops.

You gentlemen are correct, the link is no longer there and there is no reason why but I shall do some looking.  I did watch it on Youtube just before posting.

Ok... I did a search and found two links with the same two "Gentlemen" in the cockpit.  However, when you look at the two links they produce the same image the difference is one has audio and one does not.

So, here is the one with audio describing what is going on.

Here is the one without voice over.

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=qai3B6Xzznk

Here is some text describing the video

This is a video of me taking a catapult shot on Christmas Day in a Navy C-2 Greyhound.  It was filmed as we flew off from the USS Harry S. Truman aircraft carrier a few years back.  With a wingspan of 81', the C-2 ties with the E-2 Hawkeye as the biggest aircraft to currently fly on and off of U.S Navy aircraft carriers.

I copied the link  and placed it as the address in another window.  It brought me to a search page that allowed me to select the video in question.  Here is a link to the video.

THANKS for the working link!  cooldude Way back in 1966 I was in VRC 50. That's when I was introduced to the Grumman C2A Greyhound. Looked like a chopped and channeled C 130. In FACT at that time the engines and the props were Identical to what the C 130 was using. Supposedly we could go to Any Air Force base with C 130s and get parts. It replaced for C V As anyway the old recip Grumman C 1 Provider I believe it was called. Personnel mail spare parts what ever could be loaded into the cargo bay area with the weight limitations. The load MUST be loaded as the Cargo Master laid it out. Weight balance fuel load etc etc. Basically a flying truck. VRC 50 was a composite Navy Squadron so many different aircraft types and I had a LOT of manuals in our shop area. I worked at all 3 Squadron locations 1 out of CONUS 1 in Japan and 1 in the Philippines. And the occasional hop. The C2s have changed some since I rotated out in 1968 BUT when it's made by Grumman Iron Works  Roll Eyes you just KNOW it will last as long as a Chevy LS engine or a Ford 9" rear end. RIDE SAFE.
