Bmw and Honda are the only two brands making an oppossed engine.   Both are great motors

I rode the old BMW boxer twins for years in the 70's and 80's and 90's.....traveled all over the west on them.   Never had a problem with them.   Then in the mid 90's I graduated to the BMW K Bike 1000 cc and it did have a few problems to deal with but the old boxers were bullet proof!!

I thought the Urals were also opposed.

Basically a reverse engineered BMW by those pesky Russian's

Harley Davidson made some also, limited number, for government contract proposal that didn't work out.

IDK.

Looks like some Master Click Baiter stuff.

Very similar to the pic in this article from 2021.

I agree it looks like a hoax. I can't imagine any company developing a new air cooled engine in this regulatory environment. The picture also looks pretty fuzzy.

Having said that, my 36 year old BMW R100GS is still a pleasure to ride. The suspension is compliant, the riding position is about perfect, and it has to be the smoothest twin ever designed. At a bit over half the weight of my Valks (420 lbs!) it handles nicely, and the modest 54 HP moves it along quite well.

But it's been far less reliable than any of my Hondas. In 62K miles I replaced an alternator, head gasket, transmission bearings, ignition coils, and final drive. Luckily it's easy to repair and parts are still available.

In the 1960s there was a Japanese bike that resembled BMW.  These were considered just as good.  The brand never got enough deslers to stick around. https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Marusho

Harley Davidson also made a BMW copy for the Army during WW II. I think it was used in Northern Africa where the shaft drive handled sand much better than chains.

If I were in the market for another bike today, it would probably be one of these.

I got that picture off of an article posted on Facebook about Yamaha making that engine.    Just tried to find the article on Google search and it is not there.  Probably fake
