I am planning a trip and the routing program (I know but I like it because it allows me to experiment).

The route I wanted to take is Little River Gorge Road in TN.  It appears to follow the Little River.

The route picks up Little River Gorge Rd, from US 321 just north of Greenbrier, TN and gets off where it sort of connects to US441.

Just wanted to make sure it was a reasonable road to travel. I have tried satellite views and there seem to be a lot of trees in the way or, the road may not really be a "road".

Any comments would be appreciated.

No experience on it that I can recall, but Googlemaps satellite view shows it as “Old State Route 73 Scenic” and it has double yellow lines everywhere that I clicked on throughout its length. Looks like a good motorcycle ride to me, and I’d take it.

I sent you an email with screenshots.

I don’t think satellite view is the correct term, it looks more like StreetView but it’s from GoogleMap.

I believe that's a road inside the park. Really nice views, park traffic. I wouldn't want to ride it in the rain.

That's my favorite road to ride in that area!

It does go through the GSMNP.

I live in Knoxville & that was a favorite route of mine when heading east.  Take a look at your map & you will see the recent extension of the Foothills Parkway from Walland to Wears Valley.  Tie than in with your trip with sort of a double back from Townsend to Wears Valley on 321.  Can get pretty "touristy" at times on weekends though.  Also, be aware that the Little River section is inside the Park, & requires a permit to park for more than 15 minutes, as does 441 over to Cherokee.

Thanks for the information.  Will check the route and see if I can adjust as you suggest.

Good to know and we will not be riding on the weekends.  We try and stick to working days (for the rest of the non-retired folks) for our travels.  We might start on a weekend day...

If you've never did the Cades Cove Loop you should check it out. One way loop around lots of old cool barns, cabins and churches.

I thought I had done the Cades Cave Loop but, in looking back through my planned trips (routes and videos and pictures) I cannot find evidence I was there, so..... it's on my list.

If you do decide to take in Cades Cove, do a little reading on it's history first.  Interesting history & scenic area.  An 11 mile loop, but plan on at least a couple of hours to be able to make some stops & check out the various cabins, mill, & such.  Best part is that it's free unless you want to camp or rent a bicycle.
