I bought my Valk in 2013 and quickly found you guys. A bunch of great people full of knowledge and loyalty. This forum has been a Great support system that helped me through many issues. Your info pages are a SMITHSONIAN of motorcycle info. In my 10 years and 60,000  of owning the Valk I was able to do almost anything. My riding style changed and I became a long mile rider and the 150 mile range of the Valk became a hindrance.  I have moved on to a very sterile, no class, no  personality ST1300 with a range of 300 miles.
The Valk was a Classy ride! I miss getting looks and questions at every stop. the 2 greatest things that I gleaned from this group is where is the hidden O-ring and how to prevent Poop Splash!!
Great welcoming group that I am sure has helped to perpetuate the mark. I know I took more from this group than I added so that speaks to your success.
Thank you - Mike Baird    Baird4444

I purchased my Valk, new, in 2003.  In my desire to do more "touring" I purchased an ST1300 in 2007 (I had BMW RT1100 used but the ST1300 was more reliable).

I still have both bikes.  The ST1300 is the bike I ride on solo trips.  The Valkyrie is the bike the wife and I ride just to get out on the road.

For long trips we take our 2015 Goldwing with Hannigan Trailer.

If you are interested, there is an ST1300 forum I have been a member of since 2006. Good information and advice there for the ST1300.  Very similar to this forum.

It's at:   https://www.st-owners.com/forums/

I enjoy all three bikes.

Mike it has been a blast meeting you and Jeri and riding with you!  I really have appreciated all your help, hospitality and good humor, and am proud to consider ya'll buddies.  It has been crappy having the construction and now the bridge outage -- has made it difficult to getting to Montrobia for some buddy riding.  I was gonna pay you to come "supervise" another spline job on the Bullet.  Wink  I guess your hands did get a bit dirty.  I still hate lifting these beasts, especially by myself.

Great choice with the ST, I remember when you were thinking of jumping on that I was telling you those 1300s are great bikes.  You've really made yours a road warrior with the trunk and highway pegs, etc.. I envy your easy maintenance and fuel injected reliability.  I may sell one Valkyrie and "downgrade" to a smaller, snappier bike as well.  Still considering a dual sport.

Anyway, I look forward to seeing you guys again soon and hope we can sneak in  a ride or three before long.
