Yeah the piece of crap only lasted about 30+ years. It was a good unit for a long time but time to replace, it apparently has an internal short that keeps blowing the fuse on the battery hookup. Plus there is no output any more. Any suggestions on other brands, the Battery Tender brand was about the only thing available when I bought it but there are others out there now. So...what's your experience?

All the "battery tenders" I have are "Battery Tenders".   I have six.  One is not in use.  Not sure how old the oldest one is but, it's not 30 years old.  Good news that I can rely on mine for a while longer.

If I were to look for a new battery tender, I would purchase the Battery Tender brand again.

My daughter has an Amazon Prime account so I just ordered a new Battery Tender using it. Expected delivery is tomorrow, $59.95+tax. If this one lasts as long as the one being replaced, I won't know about...unless I live to be 125. Probably won't be riding by then. Wink

Well this IS 2024. Nuttin today built as good as it was built 30  35 years ago. John hate to rain on yer parade BUT you git 10 year outa the new battery tender should I still be around I'll attempt to act surprised!  2funny I went with one from Harbor Freight and only ever used it 2 or 3 times. Where I live I have a bit more RIDIN season then where you park yer trike!  Roll Eyes RIDE SAFE.

Two of my three Battery Tender Juniors have been in continuous use for some 15-20 years and none have died.  My Valks are always plugged in when parked (at home), and I get really great longevity from their Yuasas.

The newer one is on my big whole house gas generator with electric start.

My big battery charger/car jumper died last year and was even older.  (I think a Sears)

John , send it back for warranty.  It should still be covered.  A N D  why do you think you won't be riding at 124 years old. You could be the oldest rider , and the youngest is not yet born. 2funny 2funny

I’ve had a CTEK 3300 for over a decade. No problems. It can charge both bikes and cars.

Are we sure it is out of warranty? Did you by chance buy an extended warranty? 30 years should just be getting broke in.
