Got a message from the Patriot Guard about standing a flagline for a special ceremony in Jacksonville on the 12th.
Seems a French delegation will be presenting the "Legion of Honor" medal to eight northeast Florida WWII veterans.
I am glad to see this and wonder if more than a few other of these oldtimers passed away before they could recieve theirs.
WWII vets- a major part of the greatest generation of Americans.
We owe what we have to them.

YES we do cooldude My most memorable mission came last summer when we buried the remains of a Korean vet KIA. His remains were found and identified. His 80 year old sister came up from Fla. to bury him. Not once did she ever doubt he would be found while she was alive. Strong woman, and a strong family.

I agree 100%.

We did a similar mission for a Korean MIA/KIA who was identified just recently. He was a POW and executed. The only way they knew how he died was because one of the guys in the group that was executed survived the shot.  He then "played dead" till after dark, then crawled out of a rice paddy and found American troops in the area.  We will never know what these Heroes went through to provide the freedom we have today!!

There is a mission on Knoxville TN  on Saturday 2/13 to honor the fallen Heros from the current war.
Wish I could be there for it.
