Yesterday I decided to ride up to a Campground that we had stay at several times.   It is about 70 miles one way to get there.  Two different roads will get one to the Campground.  I took one way which has a lot of potholes in the road, just to see how bad it was this season.  Not a good decision as had a lot of practice in missing the holes, road had really gone bad.  So, got to the last mile going into the campground, a gravel road which I normally shy away from.  The start of the road was not bad but due to a beaver and a culvert it went bad in a hurry.  The road was very narrow and couldn't turn around.  So went ahead.  slipped off in a 8" rut in soft dirt.   That stopped Valk very quickly.  I basically stepped off her.  No damage to me.  Just 800 lb. dead weight that I couldn't lift/push back to upright position because of the rut.  So, check for Bars on my phone. Had one bar, so called for help.   Help is coming but an hour and half away.  So, I walked back to the main road in search of a friendly face to help me upright her.  I waited for nearly an hour when a fishery Biologist comes along.  He was going to do some fish measurement on the creek the beaver had dammed up.  So, with his help, got Valk out of the rut and on solid ground.   She would not start.  Pressed the button, nothing. Lights but started would not spin.   Checked the kill switch.  It was off like normal.  He suggested that we push her up the hill aways to see if I could bump start her on the way down.   Didn't work.  She moaned a bit, wouldn't catch.   I stopped to think a bit.  Maybe the "bank angle sensor" was activated from her being on her side for a while.   After, 10 minutes my help arrived.  I thought that maybe the jar had had an effect on the battery, so got my jumper cables out of the rescue truck and was able to jump start her.   Decided to just head home without stopping.   When I got home, I put battery tender on.   Check it a few hours later and the light indicated that battery was charged   This morning she started up without a problem.  Like normal.   Even had to go get gas, not problem.   So, why didn't she want to start after sitting on her side.  Was the bank angle sensor not resetting?  How long does it take to reset?   It did shut the engine down when we stopped.

Maybe it was God trying to tell you not to go that way today.

To reset the tip sensor you have to cycle the ignition switch on and off. As I have never done it personally Im not sure if there’s a time/speed at which one must cycle the key on and off. But it sounds like that was your issue.

I've almost gotten myself into similar situations on the Valkyrie.  Luckily, each time I've had that uneasy feeling that the road is unpassable I've managed to get turned around.  Barely, the most recent time.  I had to do like a twenty-five point and almost dropped the bike several times in the process.  Now I curb my curiosity about discovering what lies behind the next corner on our dirt and gravel roads.  Unless I'm in my truck.

Chris, I did turn the ignition switch off/on a several times trying to get her to start.  Even tried to use a downhill stretch to bump start.  Looks like I didn't turn it on/off enough.  Probably would have started if I had tried it before hooking up the jumper cables.  Hopefully there won't be a next time.

Valkorado, I would have tried to turn her around except for the loose gravel and ruts in the road.  Probably my foot/feet would have slipped on the rocks and down I would have gone.  Have down many turn arounds on roads, sometimes taking as many as you said you did.
