Am starting to plan for the Run next year a little early and wondering if any Valks will be riding along with me.   Will actually be driving across and doing the run back.   Leaving SC a week before, doing the run, then heading back to SC after.   Just wondering if anyone was going…

I'm not familiar with a Run for the Wall ride.   Please elaborate.

It has been on my bucket list for many years.  Is it still organized. If I remember (I did not look it up) it was called RTTW.

It is cross country run to being awareness to the POW and MIA issue.  The run starts in Rancho Cucamonga , Ca and ends in DC the day before Memorial Day so the participants can join in Rolling Thunder.  You can join in at anywhere along the run and drop out the same.  The main thing is the participation of the run.   Check out “Run for the wall” website just google it…

OK, thanks.   Have heard of the "Thunder Run" to the Memorial Wall in DC before.   Actually been to the wall twice although I could not bring myself to actually touch it.   Too many friends on that wall.

In NoVA, I rode in Rolling Thunder for a number of years.

Last time it was terrible DC gridlock, terrible hot sun, no place to take a leak anywhere, hours on the kickstand.

So I never went again.

I'm a veteran, I worked at HQ USDVA serving veterans for 20 years after service.

So I don't have to ride in Rolling Thunder.   Grin

Rams, I understand about the wall, took me an hour of sitting and looking down toward it before i could walk down. If you have not been to the Vietnam Veterans Memorial Angel Fire New Mexico, you need to go. It is, in my opinion better then the wall, it is more personal. I have been there three times and it will put a feeling through you like nothing else. Do a search and read about it. I meet the man that started it in early 90s the next time his health was getting bad and was in a wheel chair, the next time he was not there to greet everyone at the door and to thank you for coming. He had past away. Rams, brother go see it.
