It started snowing here on Friday around 2:30 or so... by the time I left work it was coming down
hard and sticking.

Carolyn and I had a Valentines date 40 miles away at a location reachable only by using lightly
traveled backroads (at least some of the way)... we decided to go for it, Intellicast said it wouldn't
drop below freezing until 11:00pm or so, so we figured the roads would be "wet and slushy" rather
than "slick and frozen"... Carolyn swapped her girly-dressy shoes for muck boots, and off we went -
that's Dag's calender, so this is Valkyrie related...

Well... the Mini has a pretty accurate outside-temp thermometer - it was hovering between 32 and 31 all
the way... on some of the uphills on the curvy backroads near the Restaurant (Grits and Groceries) we
were slipping in third gear and the snow was coming down hard and maybe I was feeling kind of like
a dope  Wink ... On the way home there were cars crashed in the road, cars crashed on the side of the
road, several long bridges over Lake Hartwell (bridge freezes before road) to cross and as a final obstacle
we had to go down and then up "Snow Creek Hill" on Hwy 59 a mile from the dirt road leading to our house.
All I can say is: the Mini is an awesome car. Here she is this morning, I went out to get one of my gloves,
had to go in the hatch, both doors are frozen shut:

Snow makes horses frisky, I took video of them acting like fools, here's a still shot I cropped out...

Bonnie must always run with a stick. This leads to broken spokes and trailside crashes when we're riding
mountain bikes (no, Bonnie doesn't ride a bike)...

Here's one of my favorite places to sit (only not today)...

Great photos Mike!  That's a nice Mini you have there...my daughter has been hounding me to get her one, but considering that I work for Nissan that probably won't happen.

When you're doing 90 on the I and you need to pass someone, the Mini has plenty left...

It wouldn't have done for me to have a Mini when I was nineteen or twenty...

I just re-read the above, here's a summary...

The Mini has plenty
don't get one when you're twenty...

Excellent point Mike, now instead of being considered a "Scrooge" by my daughter....I can claim the moral "high ground" when I get her a used Versa!

That's a good "ride" report Mike. Nice pictures too. Wonder why horses like the snow so ?
And tell Carolyn it's just like I've always heard, The shoes make the outfit.  Smiley
Oh yeah, and please don't tell her who said that.  Cheesy

Ditto on the ride report. And our three steeds were acting rambuctious as well. Could be that all day they do nothing but graze. With snow on the ground for the first time for 2 of em, it gave em a break and they spent the day frolicking around like, well, like horses. I guess that's where we get the term horse-play.
