Just like old times, Wall led four Hondas on a beautiful ride around south central NH today. Wall met Gary, Raybo, Rick T and his friend Deb and me at the Mobil Station on route 70 in Lancaster, MA. We were on our way by about 10:30.

Wall took us mostly non-marked routes to 124 in Townsend on the border of Mason, NH. We road 124 up through Jaffrey where we had excellent views of Mount Monadnock along the route. We followed 124 to its end at route 101 in Marlborough, NH. It's a beautiful ride.

We took a right onto 101 E to Dublin, NH to have lunch at Smokehaus BBQ. I got a pulled pork sandwich with baked beans on the side. I've had better pulled pork. Today's was dry. But the beans were good. Here's a picture of the gang and bikes in the parking lot.

We got back on 101 E and very quickly took the first left onto Chesham Rd which turns into Breed Rd and then Nelson Rd on its way north to intersect NH Route 9. It's a beautiful winding road with great views of Silver Lake and Childs Bog.

NH Route 9 is a great road. We took it east bound all the way to Hennicker, NH where we took route 114 east. Great views of Pat's Peak ski area on this road.

In Goffstown, NH we took route 13 S. Wall had recently done this ride and picked this route for it's twisting path along a river. Beautiful ride. We continued on route 13 south. The views traveling south bound through Mont Vernon are spectacular as we're traveling from a plateau down into a valley. I had never ridden it south bound until today. Impressive.

We continued south on 13 through Milford, NH to Townsend, MA where we had a rest stop at Dunkin's.

We said our good byes to Wall and thanked him for planning and leading the ride. It was great to get out with a group of friends.

From there we all headed home after a gas stop at the Mobil in Lancaster.

Rick T. and Deb had 285 miles.
Raybo had 241 miles.
Gary had 220 miles.
I had 205 miles.

That's a fun day of riding!  cooldude

Nice write up Tony. It was a great ride with "old" friends, even if there were no Valkyries to be seen. Not sure how you know every road name, lake and mountain we passed, quite impressive.
When I get home Deb asked where we rode to. I tell her to just wait for Tony's ride report he can tell ya better than I can.

It was great to get out and about with all of you today. I had not been on Chesam Rd before, so that was a nice surprise.
I would have liked for those other motorcycles to not be in front of us on Rte 13 south along the river in New Boston. That's a nice spirited ride with no traffic.
We may have to make plans for once a month, just like old times.

He looked it up on GPS Map when he got home. I used to do the same thing with Kathy. "How do you know all the places?"
Because I'm wikid smaht. She didn't buy it either.

Wall is right! I use Google maps for road names and features. Also, Wall sent me a Google map of the route he mapped out. Can't have a ride report with no road or route names.   Grin

There are times that I wish I was still in New England with my VRCC family. After reading your post, this is one of them. cooldude  I would have joined you hooligans in a heartbeat. Are we still hooligans at our age?

Well, now that I'm only a knee wall, the bike doesn't have to haul so much azz. But it does.
