I sure am glad! I know many of you have been experiencing varying degrees of liquid sunshine, but the hill I live on has been bone dry for over a month. It was the longest stretch of not having to mow in several years. It’s raining here again this morning and things are starting to green up. I know, I’ll start complaining about weed eating and edging in a few days!

Glad to hear you are getting some moisture.  We haven't had measurable moisture in a couple of months which is normal for us.  But we do live in sort of a high desert country and in the rain shadow of the Cascades mountains.   We could use a couple of inches spread over a month, so if you have excess moisture, please send it our way.

Wouldn't it be nice to get routine adequate to moderate rainfall?

Instead of weeks/months of scorching dry heat with killer sunshine (and lots of watering), with the rare monsoon that quickly runs off our hard clay into the storm drains?   I'll still take any precip I can get though.

I can't remember wishing for cool/even cold weather as much as this year.

Routine adequate to moderate rainfall? THAT WOULD BE CLIMATE STAGNATION. Ain't no money in that.

wish I could send more rain your way.  going from last year I mowed grass 5x's all summer (which was nice sorta sick of mowing grass as we get older) to EVERY single week this year is annoying.  If our sump pump failed, we woulda had our entire full basement under water twice month or two ago about 4-6 inches high.  Never seen rain come down in only 1 hour over 2 inches worth in such a brief short time.

We got an hour of hard rain yesterday and much needed.

Interestingly to me, my home drain-field and sump pump system never produced one drop of water.  The sump hole in the basement flloor is and remains cobweb dry.  That almost never happens, and shows how dry (and hot) it's been.

Ground water level is WAY down. (in wet weather, it's 18" from surface, well above my basement and drain field)
