I have a sh!tload, probably going clear back to college. Dress, casual, work, leather, cotton, nylon and some nice spendy gun leather (Milt Sparks, Aker).
Many of them tell the tale of the tape (measure). I was a 32, 34, then 36-7 waist guy. And most of the good casual/work/gun ones are 36. Of course you know belt sizes are 2 inches longer than your waist.
In the last 2 years, I lost 25lbs, all from my waist, and suddenly all my best belts are too long, even on the innermost holes they're too loose.
So I was looking at good saddlery leather belts on line and like everything else prices are up.
So I decided to add some holes. Lacking leather tools, I used a nail set to punch new holes, then a small round file to clean them out and a little mink oil and done. I should have done this a long time ago. Now these belts are really too long, but I won't go cutting the finished ends off, so I'll need belt loops to hold the tails in.
Nice little afternoon project.

Why did the farmer wear red suspenders? To hold his pants up.

I have like Four. Work pants, work shorts. Casual pants, casual shorts. I hate changing belts. They are all sturdy for CCW. And I haven’t gotten a new belt in years. If it works it works.

I recently updated my belt inventory Needed something more appendix carry compliant. Found what looked good on the web and ordered one to see if it was ccp crap or not, as it was something around $25.00 It came and I was very happy with it. Ratchet style heavy metal buckle with leather belt. It comes long and you cut to fit. I bought 3 more. Just disposed of about 20 old belts going back to the 70's. But, I know one thing, I haven't looked at most of those old belts in decades, but seeing as I threw them out, I'll need one next week.

Leather Shop nearby caters largely to bikers, with quality goods & services. The had these incredible Well made belts Amish- made, so I bought 1 brown & 1 black, figured I ill never need another belt purchase in my life… they are heavy & really good quality- but are incompatible with medication I have causing pants to hit the floor, “Noassatall” meds make suspenders a must

Well, I'm a bit of a pack rat and/or cheap. I save things I might use later.
These little skinny canvas, nylon, cotton belts get worn to paint and stain in (or other crummy jobs), where I'm likely wearing old baggy pants that need a belt to stay up.
And for convenience, I keep my walking, riding, shopping pants hanging in my utility room with belts that just stay on them on the hangers until they need washed.
The three I added new holes to were all very good leather that I won't screw up working in, but could no longer keep my pants up.
I've migrated away from carry belts to soft pocket holsters which require no untucked shirt, just a tucked Tshirt. With no worry about flashing.

Soft pocket holsters for the J-Frame are collecting dust in the safe now that I’m very used to the IWB holster for the 686. Here in FL. An accidental Flashing (of the gun) is ok. No worries

Jeff, if I ever need a pistol, I'll wish I had a full size one on me for sure. (More for the better sights and radius, than increased capacity) But my little flat Kahr P380 with crimson trace goes right in a front pocket with holster to break up the profile. There's always bigger/better stuff in the truck, bike and house. Just not in my pants. I've got several nice J frames (including a rare square butt, and the smallest/lightest .357 ever made), but in small packages I prefer an auto.

I have two and they are both crap, I’ve been procrastinating on a quality belt purchase for some time now. Don’t even bring up shoes!

I only wear one at a time.
Two also. One for all my other activities, one for when I'm expected to look good. This is something I really don't understand, I'm thinking I always look good. Rams

I like suspenders much over belts but, I don't find the "work" versions very often. Rams

For17 years I’ve been using 511 police belts with Kydex inside. Same belt for work, play, gun work. I recently purchased a Veder belt with kydex inside. It’s a bit thicker and more expensive than the 511. I hate belts that belly sag and those 2 won’t.

I have three belts. One for everyday use, one for my yard/bike work, one in my riding jeans. Right now, the work belt needs to be replaced. There is a belt that is with my holsters which hasn't been worn in many years. It won't fit in any beltloops, it was cut, and hand tooled many years ago.

after all these years keep getting bigger and bigger, I got smart and the too small belts (still kept them in case that 1 percent chance I loose 40lbs. again), bought a webbed belt that you can put the metal prong thru anywhere on the webbing of the belt not relying on any holes needed, works well.
