Ok so started sanding when I was home last time and well while on the boat here I was digging around and came across the Pin Stripe parts  online now my question is is there really a big sticker on the Trunk lid that has to be sanded off???

http://fiche.ronayers.com/Index.cfm/Module/Main/TypeID/26/Type/Motorcycle/MakeID/1/Make/Honda/YearID/40/Year/1999/ModelID/6791/Model/GL1500CF/GroupID/289220/Group/STRIPE_-_MARK

There is a link and the part in question is number 10.    Thats alot of sanding LOL

Yes.  The trunk I purchased for my standard was two tone black and red.  In the process of sanding for repainting I discovered the red was a vinyl sticker that was clear coated over at the factory.

Another green Valk gets a makeover! Wink I couldn't stand it any longer and decided to get the
"Green Wienie" painted. I couldn't believe they had used that big of a decal on the truck lid, what a pain to remove. B D cycles is painting the ole girl illusion blue, will pick up next weekend. The illusion blue is for the wife, maybe I will get my 01 red and black IS back from her. cooldude

I used a heat gun to help peel the decal up.  It was much faster than trying to sand through it.
