Well...today, August 29, is my birthday.   Turned 74 today.  Wife asked what I wanted and I told her I wanted the day alone on my bike.   Left this morning at 7am on my Valkyrie and hit the back roads.  Pretty windy back roads around Fayettvlle Texas.  Rode these back roads to Taylor Texas to a restaurant buffet I really like.  Had a great lunch took another route heading back still on backroads thru Rockdale Texas to Independence Tex to Navasota to home.   Got in 356 miles today.  Got home and the wife was gone shopping with her friend so I ate some leftover Chili and Rice (my favorite food) and then ate a bag of M&M's for the sugar ( sugar makes me sleepy).... layed in my recliner and took about an hour nap.     Now at 9p Im watching a recorded cowboy show "Walk Tall".  Been a great day....

Sounds like a good birthday. I ride and drive alone lately as well. The wife’s health doesn’t as low her to go with me most of the time. I still get wind therapy. It’s necessary!

Sounds like a perfect way to celebrate another birthday! Congrats on having found a suitable outlet for your desires... Also, congrats on choosing a mate who goes along with that!!!

Sounds like a fine birthday celebration.

One concern.  Getting drowsy after consuming sugar (or excessive cabs) is one of the impacts of type 2 diabetes.

Yeah....My blood work shows Im pushing the limit.   I try to keep my sugar consumption down to a minimum...except on special occasions...like my birthday....ha.....and we all know there are no carbs or calories on your birthday.

Happy Birthday Digger.   cooldude

Mine come and go with no notice, except mom always sends a card.

My only complaint is that the hair that used to be on my head, seems to have migrated to come out of my ears, nose and one shoulder.   Grin

So long as you are aware my concern is unwarranted.  Take care of yourself as you choose.

As an aside, I loved eating a bag of M&M peanuts but I have given that up for some time now.  I do eat some sugars and too much carbohydrates but I do try to watch what strongly impacts my glucose level.
