Christ first and always

Richmond, Kentucky

« on: September 16, 2024, 06:16:48 AM »

I have been involved with a small dedicated group of people who have formed a new church. Our efforts have been ongoing for the last three years and is born out of the Covid crisis and the incessant creep of wokeness and permissiveness in some churches.

We have been meeting in a members dance studio (for children) which didn’t cost us a great deal at all but required us to setup for Sunday mornings and then tear back down afterwards. We found out this spring that the dance studio would be closing this summer so the search was on for another location to meet. We found a conference room at a local motel that was big enough and affordable but their were drawbacks so even though we committed to going their, we kept looking.

Then through the efforts of one of our members “asking around” a wonderful business lady offered us an upper room over her business which was really not big enough but was better suited to our needs and it was free for our use as long as we needed. We met their for two months and it was nice but we all knew that for us to continue to grow we needed our own property that we could access 7 days a week at our discretion.

A “chance” meeting of our Pastor and a bank teller who was a Pastors wife, opened the door to purchasing the building and grounds to what will now be known as Providence Baptist Church. There’s a lot more to this story and the part that prayer played in landing us where we are, but to say the least we are blessed and overjoyed to have come so far in such a short time.

Our first Wednesday evening service, my wife didn’t attend so I got to take the Wing, and it was a perfect evening to be out on two wheels and enjoy Gods creation.

Sometimes the Lord makes you work a little and sometimes a lot

But your prayers appear to have been heard and answered

Congratulations

As I've always said, where there's the will, there's always a way.

Congrats on this accomplishment.   This nation needs more committed people like John and his group.

We are blessed to have such folks within our own group.
