The former President was taken outside for a fly over to celebrate his 100th.

He and his wife were fantastic humanitarians, hope his final days are peaceful.

“the 1980 financial rescue of struggling Chrysler Corp. was as one of Carter’s key accomplishments The automaker was hemorrhaging cash, an estimated $1.5 billion in combined losses for 1979 and 1980.”

He was a good man but not a completely effective president.

I have pretty much the same assessment of him.

Too bad we can't get back to that!

Carter was a good man he just wasn't an effective President.

Condolences to his family, it's always hard when one loses a loved one.

Former President Carter is no longer the worst President I've lived through.

I put him at number 3 maybe 4. Depends on what happens between now and Jan. 20.  (And people whine about 6% mortgage rates.)

Oh, I give former President Carter all the credit in the world for being a great humanitarian and an honest man.   Just not a very good President.   In that this is a legacy type thread, I won't go into what I think of the current one.

As tempting as that may be, I can see where it would quickly digress into a "Rabbit" hole.

The things that Jimmy Carter did after his Presidency are well worthy of him being honored for.

My mom and her husband were part of Carters Frendship Force (?) They would ask other members from other countries to come and live with them for a few weeks, and in turn, go stay with them for a few weeks sometime later. It was pretty cool that they stayed all over the world (China, Japan, Spain, Netherlands, etc...) The idea was if they made friends all over the world, the less like likely we would have conflicts in other parts of the world.
