Yea! Several reports of battery fires after hurricane Idalia, some people couldn't get enough charge ( most have around 240 mile range) to evacuate to saftey

240 Mile range....Thats if the traffic doesnt stack by up. Evacuation in Florida was stacked up for 30 miles the news said.

A word of wisdom! I see EVs everywhere in Minnesota. Imagine 30 below and stuck in traffic. Just plan dangerous ! I don’t get it! The only EV that makes sense is an electric bike during summer. Just remember Lithium batteries don’t charge below freezing so they require heaters and they can get damaged in cold weather and are very expensive to replace. I found out the hard way!

As I've said before - I will never have a pure EV without also owning an ICE / Hybrid. Hybrid would be the closest I would ever come, and I really don't even want them - give me plain old ICE powered vehicles anyday. And right now I have THREE VW diesels, all of which can make at least 350 miles (the 2000 New Beetle can do 600 at highway speed without thinking about it - I've made over 700 miles a couple times ).
