My Valkyrie is now 25 years old and sitting on a lift with long ago expired tags. Rusty tank and dried out carbs for sure. My Impala SS is 30 years old and while it’s not on a lift, it sure needs enough attention that some lift time would be welcomed. But after sitting all summer, and in essence for the last two years, with a little boost it fired right up. So that led to a 25 mile shakedown run to see what would happen. Success was measured by completing the run and making it back to the garage! It took at least 10 miles to get the flat spots out of the tires, and then keeping an eye on the temp gauge even though the water pump and thermostat have maybe 300 miles of use. Now there is a coolant leak somewhere but I have not located ed the source/sources which I find totally irritating. Except for shocks the entire front suspension needs to be upgraded after 217,000+ miles and 30 years but  except for a little tendency to wander a bit, the ride was ok. Cruise doesn’t work anymore, air needs Freon, needs a drivers side window motor replaced, and that’s before any appearance challenges are addressed. I now have way more time than money and my time is getting into the questionable territory!

I don’t know

John,
All it takes is time and money (maybe a little blood, sweat and a few tears) but, knowing you, I'll expect to see that hot rod as some future car show.

But, if it were me, I'd be getting that Valk back on the road......................  Wink
I've got an extra Standard tank or two around here someplace..............  Smiley

My original post got cut short, that last paragraph was a little longer. I was just wondering if any of you have projects that will possibly never see completion? I also have a 67 Chevelle that has sat for close to 30 years now, and those years have not been kind. I’m not crying in my beer but most days I feel like I’m running out of time, or motivation, and/or money and these were all things I thought I could get done.

I’m sure that day will come for me as well!

All great sentiments! As I understand it, next year I’m required to start taking payments from my retirement account, that count shed a little light on my projects.
