I rode my Valk today on backroads just a little under 250 miles.   Beautifull weather.    I stopped at a popular biker hangout in Carlos Texas at a restaurant and bar called "Yankees".   I go there couple times a month.    Neat place.  Was crowded with many bikes today.   Anyways...Low and behold I ran into an old biker friend I havent seen in probly 20 yrs.    He has always been a Harley guy. We sat down and talked a while comparing our motorcycle trips in the past yrs.    I couldnt top his stories...ha.   He is now 68 yrs old and said 7 yrs ago he and 3 buddies researched a bucket list trip and decided to ride up to Alaska and ride "The Artic Circle".   I dont even know what it is.   Anyways its a lot of unpaved roads he said so in their research they decided the bike best suited to do this trip was the BMW GS twin cylinder thumper so they all 4 bought one and headed out from Houston Texas.  They went up thru Montana into Alaska and did the Artic Loop.   Then came back down and toured around in Montana, Wyoming and Colorado then back to Houston.   I didnt ask how long they were gone but he said they rode over 12,000 miles.
Manoman what a trip.    I bet that was awesome!!!

Four guys on one bike, that must have been a sight!

Sorry, I couldn’t resist, that’s how I read it at first. It’s clear what you said after I reread it.

I've ridden a lot, but now and then meet (or read about) someone who has real passion for riding. A riding friend lent me a book, 'The Longest Ride', about Emilio Scotto's incredible trip around the world on a GL1100. In 10 years he rode 485,000 miles through 232 countries. It was an amazing accomplishment. Rider magazine republished a summary of his trip here: https://ridermagazine.com/2004/08/17/emilio-scottos-epic-motorcycle-journey-around-the-world/
