I figured this would happen sooner or later. California is proposing electric motorcycle mandates!

Actually, electric motorcycles make more sense than electric trucks with battery packs weighing a ton or more. But EV mandates aren't being well received by the public, and automakers are cutting back on their electrification plans. Governments might figure it out -- eventually.

A electric motorcycle at full throttle should be easier to catch in a chase.  Battery life. Don’t assume that the battery will be at full charge at the start of a chase. The downside, thug will have to car jack at some point.

Heh California has all the fun. As of last year they banned consumer gasoline power generators.
You have to get a battery electric generator for emergency power under 26 kilowatt in California.

...imagine only having a battery powered electric generator and dealing with something like our friends in North Carolina have been dealing with.

An electric motorcycle would be fun around town, that much torque immediately would be stupid fun!

it would be fun, but I tend to ride out of town on two lane roads and go 150 to 200 miles. Might be stretching the battery.

So is CA going to ban ICE motorcycles or just the sale of them.

Glad I didn't stay in CA for my retirement years.

The People’s Republic of California is just nutz. The people making the rules drank WAY too much of the coolaide. Can they not see the misery all over the place their communist policies have created?!?!

A few years ago I could've purchased a new electric motorcycle from the local BMW motorcycle dealer cheap.

Story was that after the third time it dumped the owner of the dealership in the parking lot he told them to get rid of it.

Apparently, the instant torque was extremely hard to handle.

During my 5+ years at March AFB (Riverside) CA, the Soldiers and Sailors Civil Relief Act, kept me from having to comply with CA law on most things (and all things vehicle related).

No annual inspections in MY state (MI), and none in CA either.   moon

Like with the Tesla's they need to turn down the speed. My son's double motor Tesla is insane fast.  Who wants distracted drivers going that fast.  Buddy test drove a new Harley electric and it scared him good.  He bought their new Cross-Country bike and loves it.  NO electric vehicles in my future.

Isn't it funny how people escape a place because everything is going to hell and the first thing they do is start passing laws to turn the new place into something that's as screwed up as the old place.  crazy2

Ya'll know I'm not fan of Californians Californicating the rest of the country, mandates, etc.... but...

ya' gotta admit that, on a forum dedicated to lover's of the motorcycle that pretty much invented the term "Power cruiser", the first motorcycle where you could say "Cruiser" and "Horsepower" in the same sentence without laughing, complaining about vehicles having too MUCH power is kinda... ironic.....

The problem with the Valkyrie is that it's just too fast.  They need to turn down the speed.  Who wants people riding that fast?  A buddy test rode a Valkyrie and it scared him good.  He bought a Sportster and loves it.  No Hondas in my future.

They can't even keep the lights on and they want another kilowatt eater. What did Forrest say?  Stupid is as stupid does.

Makes about as much sense as electric lawn equipment. Gruesome Newsome is at it again, the nepotism of Pelosi strikes again.

I was watching an RV program the other day and guy talking said California was outlawing sales of diesel Rv's  by 2025.  They kept showing a big class A  during the show and I kept thinking . WTF   How many batteries is that thing going to have ?  How long will it take to charge?  Then I remembered I can't afford or want one and thank GOD  I don't live there.   Those people are wacky

A Tesla Semi has about 60,000 cells in its 1 megawatt-hour
battery pack. They have a high powered charger and get
up to 70% in about 30 minutes.

Amen on whacky. I think the people they voted in just raised
their gas tax 50 or 60 cents.

Last month me and two friends took a tour of the neighborhood we grew up in.  I graduated high school in 1968.   Hispanics have taken over the area and the old neighborhood has gone greatly down hill to date.   Some of the homes were even flying large Mexican flags in front of their homes.   Its like they escape their way of living in Mexico and then they want to show how proud they are of the country they just escaped from and fly that countries flag....
