I have been just going to the Honda car dealer for 20ish years and buying the Type 2 coolant.. Usually about 20 bucks.
(Ignore the price in the link, they are gouging)

Valvoline/Zerex Asian coolant is a Phosphated Organic Acid Technology (POAT) coolant that's used in nearly all current Japanese vehicles, including Hondas. It contains no silicates. The color makes no difference as they provide it in red and blue to better match the rainbow of colors manufacturers use. I've used Asian coolant in two GL1800s for over a decade with no issues.

When our Valkyries were new we didn't have as many coolant choices. Back then most coolants contained silicates, which damaged GL1500 water pump seals. Many owners who used that stuff ended up with leaking pumps. So a favorite back then was Dex-Cool, which GM had recently introduced for their newer engines. It's an orange colored (which means nothing) silicate free OAT coolant sold under many brand names. I've used Dex-Cool in both of my Valks for nearly 300,000 total miles with no issues. When My stock runs out I'll probably switch to Asian coolant.

Just curious about how often you guys are changing the coolent. I have an 03 with right at 50,000 miles on it and I think I have change it twice, maybe three times.

I also have a 2003. Got it in 2011.  Been using "All Vehicles Extended Life" yellow coolant, changing it every two years.  What drains out looks good, so I change the coolant without flushing the system.

This went in last week.  https://www.napaonline.com/en/p/NAFRTU1EXT

That's about the same time I got mine. My boss at the time bought it new in 2004 and put 2300 miles on it. He sold it to me for $5000.00,  the same price the dealership had offered him. That was one of the best buys in my life. I guess it's about time to change mine again. Thanks for the response.
