I have my father's MCRD Paris Island SC graduation class picture on my wall.  

April 17, 1951 "Honor Platoon"

Right below that is mom and his wedding picture (from about two weeks later).  

He's wearing his Dress Greens because they were the nicest clothes he owned.

My dad, some time after the end of WWII.  He was a fighter pilot in the Marine Corps.  This image is from a motion picture that was made just after the war's ended.  He was stationed in Hawaii and he and his friend were exploring the island just before they were to be shipped home.

He was really into photography and movies.  I still have his 16mm Bolex Movie Camera.
