There's a couple TV shows about game and fishing wardens.

The licensing and various permissions required (varies by state, but also fed) and how many of what you are allowed to take is confusing as hell.  Some guys have no license, but much of the shows deals with guys who try to follow the rules, but still fail and get tickets and trouble.

You've got 12 trout in the bucket and you're only allowed 11 on alternating Tuesdays.

Can I just throw one back?

Yes, but I still have to give you a ticket.

These shows are not entertaining and I can't watch them.

Give thousands of people elected to state and federal office, and all the bureaucracies/agencies a few hundred years of passing laws, rules and regulations to justify their paychecks.  And taxes to pay them.  What did we think would happen?   crazy2

Looking forward 125 years is a long time, but looking backwards not so much especially when I consider I lived through 72 of those 125 years past. My grandparents lived through all of them.

I didn’t exactly think that through did I? But I do suspect they lived through all the changes listed before their demise.

I mean... my dad was alive before the first nuclear explosion, lived through it, through commercial Jet aviation, through Apollo, through the Internet, through SpaceX catching the first Starship through to today... That's pretty dang impressive, if I do say so myself.....

They were members of an incredible generation. My dad missed the the Starship and SpaceX I believe but he did grow up plowing with a team of mules, never had indoor plumbing until he left home during WW2 and drove a Model T (not new) as his first car.

Serk, I was alive not only for the events you listed, but also for Pearl Harbor and events that followed. Although too young to be aware of the Pearly Harbor event, the war lasted long enough for me to remember the stamps issued for various goods and services. And I definitely recall "blackout practice" at irregular times, while at the same time listening to the "war news" broadcast by H.V. Kaltenborn on our big Philco radio. That used to scare me just listening to it. I believe it was Puffed Wheat and Rice that included a small plastic replica of all the different aircraft used by the U.S. and other countries during WWII, and as a little kid I had a full collection. Can't help but wonder what that collection would be worth today if I had kept it.
