Yesterday in Tomball Tx area ( Houston) I got out of bed and had a cup of coffee while still dark.  Sun came up and was shining bright.   51 degrees at sunrise.  Me thinks....what do we have here....looked at the forcast and about 10 am is gonna be 60's and then the high is 69 degrees....0%rain....left the house 10 am and rode back roads the rest of the day for 240 miles.   Awesome weather!!!   There were even other bikes out taking advantage of the great riding weather.  Only 198 miles from 125,000 miles on my Valk.  Should be able to hit that mark before Christmas....for sure by shortly after Christmas.  Bike is running great!!!

Good for you Digger.

I envy you your winters but not your summers.

I got out for a decent day here in VA last week.  Winter is usually mild here, and I can ride enough I don't have to winterize the bikes.

My days of riding in low 40s or below are gone.  I have the gear, but lack the fortitude.  Cold and dreary lead gray skies and I'm out.

I thought I'd sneak up to Costco for a few things (in the truck) at opening this morning and avoid any crowd.  I thought wrong, the Christmas madhouse was in full swing.  I thought about just going home, but went in a joined the madhouse.  It's hard for a single man to shop at Costco for a lot of stuff... like I don't need enough peanut butter to last until I'm 85.

Wind chill is 25 here in central/eastern Kentucky, and it is bone chilling to this old guy. I’m working on my sons rental house and the heat works good. I’m saving up my urge to ride for 2025, I’m hoping it will be a banner year in more ways than one.

Up here two doors down the street from the north pole it was 22 degrees today in the sun with a breeze. That was on top of a fresh layer of about 5" of snow so no...the trike sits peacefully parked in the garage. If I could get someone to come install some 220 wiring out to the garage, I'd hang a 7500 or 10k watt electric heater out there. Then I could make the Wing motor swap and be ready to roll at the first sign of spring weather...sometime next May.  Angry

John, you should look into one of those new-fangled diesel heaters.  I understand they work pretty good.

Digger, thanks for the ride report cooldude

I never heard of a diesel heater.

Looked them up, and they're like $1-200.

Diesel heaters are generally considered to be safe for indoor use...

Depends on the heater but on average you get about 10 hours on 5 liters on high. A 5kw will use 0.5l/h at full... 0.25dl at middle.... 1 liter 4 hours.... And one gallon is 3,785liters... so it is 15-16 hour.... My vevor does 10hrs per gallon on high and 24hrs on low.

Pretty impressive.

Sitting here on the other side of the Country.  WE have had what I call good winter riding conditions.  On the downside haven't been able to ride for several weeks due to left knee.  Right now, it is raining, not dropping white stuff, which is strange for this time of the year.   They are forecasting a white Christmas for most of us here.

Yeah Jess, somewhat new industry.  Look up Project Farm on YouTube, he does great comparison reviews and recently did one on diesel heaters.

Vevor sells many items made in china that are not the typical crap we're used to from the people's republic.

I've bought several items from them and the quality is pretty good but instructions are lacking.

Never heard of the diesel heaters but those sound great. As for Vevor power converter and its a well made unit, not fancy but does the job.

Rode to work today.  It was 55F when I left the house, perfect.  The ride home this afternoon should be perfect again, 72F or so.  Might not go straight home........
