Who wouldn't like a bigger take home in their monthly income.  Especially those of us on fixed income.

I do question how this bill will affect a balanced budget for our country.  Haven't seen one of those in a very long time.   I don't mind paying my fair share but, I'm whole heartedly against waste, fraud and abuse which, has run rampant (especially during the Biden administration) but, I have no doubt abuses have been around for a very long time.

Well, as 98valk pointed out, abusers voted this down last time.

While I agree with giving us S.S. receivers a break on taxes, a graduated scale could be added.

Many do not need the tax relief.

Many do not need the benefit at all, but paid into the system for decades, so.....

Been hidden in plain sight fer how long? How many other money drainin ops are going on behind door # 1 and # 2 and # 3 and # 4 and # 5 etc etc etc? Trumps team has been active fer what? comib up on 3 weeks and look at All the WASTE the 47 team has already exposed and uncovered. no wunder the democrats ans some republicans are cryin and slingin snot cuz the secrets WILL come out in the harsh light of day. I've always Known my tax $$ and others have not always been put to the uses originally intended and "THEY" kept needing MORE! And recalling some end of year statements pretty sure I've paid My fair share and THEN SOME!  Lips Sealed HW DARE "THEY" mishandle our maney that badly. I liken it to them throwin it away. Oh, I do agree.  Just as the vast majority of Americans, I paid into the system and deserve every penny returned, to include interest.   But I didn't pay taxes on my earned income when that money was taken out and don't mind it being tax as my money is being returned, it's now income.  As we all know, freedom isn't free.

I consider Social Security to be a government sponsored Ponzi Scheme.   We should have always been able to pay into our own choice of long term savings/investments without government interference.

What really burns me is how our elected leaders used our forced payments to the system and used that money in other programs.   Thusly, why the system is going broke.   It's not fair or right that younger folks may have to suffer the consecquences of poor decisions made by bureaucrats and supposedly elected leadership.

Venezuela comes to mind from a few years ago when the government went bankrupt and the free money people rioted. The retirees took the biggest hit.

I don't mind paying social security taxes, as long as it's used for running a logical, rational, thrifty government for the people..... instead of a lunatic asylum (it really irritates me having to pay for that).

It isn't a great big income, and they're not great big taxes.

If we'd had a logical, rational, thrifty government, we wouldn't need to pay taxes on it.

Any comment on House or Representatives and Senators retirements?   Or, their control of their own pay scale/raises?

what?  they violated the promise that SS will be there where u retired, your money given back to you and then they started taxing it, so they could spend it on their special projects and people.

While I do agree with us supposedly getting our money back, I don't remember ever being advised that money wasn't going to be taxed.   It wasn't taxed going into SS, it's still income when it comes back to us.  Why wouldn't it be taxed?

If there was a "promise" to not tax that money coming back is out there, I haven't heard about it.  Please enlighten me/us.  Again, Freedom still isn't Free.
