While in my closet this morning moving clothes around, I found and decided to wear my Thors Hammer T-shirt. I started wondering what ever happened to Thors Hammer. I checked on the VRCC and there hasnt been anything posted in 9 years. Does anyone know what happened to it. Curious minds want to know.

I ate and slept since then. Can you bring me up to speed on Thors Hammer?

Chuck,

What a great surprise to see your post! Although I think of you now and then as I recall the memories we made 'back in the day'... I often find myself wondering whatever happened to you! I miss my friends in the Albuquerque area...

Like you, I have no recollection of what ever happened to all the associated stuff that went with that 'episode' of VRCC history... Maybe we'll both gain some sort of update on that thanks to your inquiry...

So,  no one knows where or who ended up with this?

I'm not at all sure on this but for some reason I thought it was handed over at one of the Inzanes to the guy who founded the VRCC with LaMont. His name escapes me now but he was from California.

That would have been Oz (Gale Scalzi). He passed during Covid. RIP Oz

Well, if that’s true, his daughters may have it. I have no idea how to contact them, but it might be worth a try.

Gale Scalzi was a member of a family consisting of himself, a wife, a son and a daughter.  Gale passed with complications of COVID-19 but the rest of his family survived.

I was given the hammer by Gale at a VRCC meeting and rode it down to Sa n Ysidro as the SW corner of the USA. The idea was to hit all 4 corners before passing the hammer to Europe for those chapters to continue the tour. I passed it to Dennis in Blythe, Ca who in turn passed it on to the Arizona team riders. My brother in England delivered it to the Valkyrie club there then I believe it was returned the following year at an Insane by a rider from Germany. I'm not sure if the details are spot on, but the ride around the US and Europe is correct.

Once completed, it was handed off at InZane to a European representative (I think Andy from Germany), to be passed around Europe.  I thought oZ had gotten it back, but I wouldn't swear to it.

So, again we're back to asking Oz's surviving family members if they know anything.   Obviously, I'm not familiar enough with that family to ask but, those interested enough to know and know the family might.

That was my brother, Andy, in England.
