Canadian Icefields Road Trip (Day 12 – Part 1)

Day 12 – 6/29/09 (Part 1) --- 100 miles (Bow Valley Parkway, Lake Louise and Lake Moraine)
45 at 7 AM --- 74 at 5 PM

We left at 9 AM and rode the Bow Valley Parkway.  We stopped at Johnston Canyon and hiked the ½ mile to the lower falls.  The walkways were bolted to the rocks.  We were rewarded with beautiful views of the falls and an additional, unique, close-up view of the falls from a cave.  We rode on to Lake Louise and walked part way around the lake and took a picture of the Fairmont Chateau Lake Louise, another Canada Pacific hotel.  We walked to the Chateau and had lunch on the patio.

That Valley of 10 peaks is beautiful. Nice pics. I'm enjoying these because y'all went places we didn't get to see.
