I just wanted to say Hi!
I've been reading a lot of post over the last couple of weeks and finally just wanted to say what a great forum this is.
The amount of information is overwhelming.
I've been riding since I was 16, on and off over the years. Mainly off while my kids were little.
Over the last 5 years I've had a Triumph, Harley, Yamaha, and now the Valk.
I bought the Valk two weeks ago. Smiley
Since riding this thing I have to say it is a really nice machine, as everyone hear knows.
The bike is a '97 with 22.5K.
Over the last couple of weeks I have been cleaning and polishing things.
I polished the wheels by hand, Mothers makes a pretty good product.
I changed the drive unit oil, and flushed all the hydraulics. The fluid was a little dark, the clutch reservoir had about 1/4 of crud in the bottom. Got all that out and things are good.
Checked the tire pressure, 18 up front. Yikes!
Why do people let things like this go?
Oil was changed by the PO at 20K.
Checked the coolant level.
Turn off the petcock at the end of every ride.

Other than pulling the rear wheel and lubing her up anything else I should do? Just shut up and ride?

Anyway, just wanted to say Hi! and again congrats on a great forum.

 cooldude !!!! Welcome !!!!  cooldude

You'll find that this is an all around great bunch of people.

Just remember that a good deal of your Northern Bretheren are suffering from a severe case of PMS (parked, motorcycle, syndrome) which causes some to bark before they think.

This is the first winter since 2004 that I haven't been able to ride at least once every other week.

This is the time of year that I wished that I lived in FL.

Sunday is calling for a high of 52 degrees.

I think I hear the Fat Lady calling me........................

Hi Dave, welcome to the VRCC!  What part of Jacksonville are you from?  I was just down there 3 weeks ago looking at some land.

Nice looking bike, that exhaust looks a bit like TBR's (Two Brothers Racing)....do you know for sure?

Welcome Dave!
Nice bike but it really needs some YELLOW in it!!!!! LMAO!!!!!!!!!
I'm in Arizona and we ride all year round. Had to throw that in for our northern riders! Rode the Valk to work today but had to shovel 2 feet of sunshine so I could get her out of the garage. LOL!!!! Ok, I'll quit now!

Welcome.

I think I would change oil and filter. I know not many miles on it now, but how long since ?? Given the low miles on the Valk., might be a year old.  Wink

Good luck. Ride On.

I was told the pipes were TBR's. No baffles, a little loud when you get on it..... Cheesy
The bike has TBR billet brake and clutch covers, so TBR exhaust would make sence.
I live on the south side.

Someone is mistaking TBRs for Cobras.  TBRs only discolor under the same circumstances as would OEM pipes.

I'm a civil engineer, so I could assist you if you need help with anything in this area.

Thanks Dave I appreciate that.  Actually we were looking south of Jacksonville close to Green Cove Springs at some acreage.  I'll give you a shout next time we get down that way.
