A while back, someone posted asking for recommendations for headlight restoration.  I bought this kit back in December and finally got around to using it.  The results are remarkable!  One tip though … watch the video before you start.  It gives some tips that are not included in the written instructions.

BTW, I bought it at WalMart.  I believe it was less than $15.

I have two vehicles that could use this.   Let me be the first to request and be at the head of the line for your services.   Just let me know where the line starts.

i bought one of those kits (not the Cerakote ceramic stuff) years ago and used my power buffer with it 3 times, and they never got clear, just better than they were (and good enough to pass inspection).

I tried the Rustoleum kit on the 10' Sierra 6 mos. ago. It worked but not what I was expecting. I accquired a cordless scrubber from Dremel about 5 yrs. ago and used the brush head with Turtle Wax scratch remover semi liquid paste on the 08' SX4 with 175,000 mi. of exposure compared to 112,000 on the GMC. Took about 1/2 hr. on each lense and keeping it moist while doing it. I'll try to get the results posted later on thru my smart arse phone.

Cerakote makes a good product, I use the Cerakote Professional Ceramic Paint Coating for the cars finish

and the trim restorer. Had a bit of a problem with the professional ceramic coating but the finish is smooth as

glass and water beads off. Dont have to wash the car, just spray water on it and it washes the dirt off.

As for the headlights the problem comes in when you don't remove the old seal coating on the headlight.

Its just like the finish on the car that the clear coat goes bad. The ceramic coating will make it look good

for awhile but it will come back. The only way I have seen lasting results is sanding the old coating off and

recoating the clear on the headlights. We have a guy that comes around and sands, buffs, then clear

coats the headlights and I have seen them last for years and look good as new. I have not used a wax

in years since they came out with the ceramic coatings. Great for all parts of the car including

windshield. The same results are for motorcycles also. I just hose down my Valk and its as good as new.

Bugs dont stick either and they are easy to wipe off and protects a little from road chips.

You did a Good job.

To give an idea this is the reflection in the hood of the car.
